I had great fun writing this completely unsolicited and - it turns out - unwanted essay about Pink Floyd. People seem to like it, too.

Did I tell you I wrote a feature about Pink Floyd that none of the proper music magazines and sites wanted? Anyway it's going down quite well with the heads, and there's a great playlist beneath it, which kind of kickstarted the whole thing.

If they had been dissident republican or loyalist paramilitaries, members of an organised crime group, a foreign white supremacy group, Islamic militants aligned with ISIS, environmental activists or holding Palestine Action placards, there would have been arrests. Fascist paramilitaries? Free pass.
There's an argument for calling them masked thugs, because that is factually true. There's an argument for calling them pathetic cosplaying loser incels, also true, and laughing at them damages their tough-guy self image and hurts recruitment. There is no argument for calling them protesters.
If someone doesn't immediately respond to Farage's conference entrance with Alan Partridge letting off fireworks during his speech for Dante's Fireplaces, something's gone wrong,
Sundays are always good on #6Music but @djdebgrant.bsky.social is absolutely knocking it out of the park. So many cool, unique, seldom-played selections. I’m getting full value out of Shazam this afternoon.
Not enough mentions in the tributes to Sam Neill of his role in seminal Aussie wartime saga The Sullivans.
Here's a picture from the Mail of Farage's car being "written off by an angry mob".
When half time comes around, who wants to read an interview with Roberto Martínez from back when he was a new signing at Wigan?

Latest word clouds for Burnham, Badenoch, Farage and Starmer for comparison.
That’s it, the worst podcast has arrived. Let’s shut up shop now.
Nothing worse then a bandwagon jumper. Seeing as he wants to deport the families of a great many of the current players I do wish he would keep his populist beak out of this
State of this. You try to get some football news from a local newspaper site and you're presented with this. At least we now we know where (some of) Farage's £5m in krypto roubles are being spent.
"30 women have been murdered in Northern Ireland in the last six years - not one road was closed, not one protest. What was the connection? They were murdered by white locals."

Travelling through London tonight, who are all these folk in Arsenal shirts and why aren’t they watching the match?
"I've never said we should deport whole communities" - R Lowe, 26th May 2026, Spectator "If that means entire communities go, then entire conmunities go. I really don't care" - R Lowe, 25th May 2026, X
Shaun Maloney in the Celtic dugout, Kolo Touré in the City dugout, Anthony Barry with Tuchell in the stands. There’s always a Wigan link.
I think I lose interest in the FA Cup after those rounds where there’s always someone with a tinfoil cup in the stands. Neither of these sets of fans will ever know what it’s like to hold a tinfoil FA Cup.
If JCB’s donation of £200,000 did buy its pothole machine a mention on Reform’s leaflets, aviation and krypto billionaire Christopher Harborne’s gifts of £27million will act as a signal to the tech bros that Reform is ready to do corruption with.
Lol Farage on BBC already saying "councils don't have enough money, we can't promise miracles!" coz he knows what an absolutely dogshit job Reform does running a council.
Bereaved family members of Covid victims write to Nigel Farage urging him to sack his Croydon candidate who said COVID was a "staged event" by the US military, with vaccines used to control the population. Reform has not responded to our story revealing his views bylinetimes.com/2026/04/15/r...
@hueymorgan.bsky.social has achieved the impossible and got me to switch to Virgin radio. It’s regularly the most RocknRollSoul-adjacent playlist out there. God I miss playing these records “out” - and loud.
Headline in today's Broadcast "Gary Barlow takes Jason Manford to New Zealand for ITV Travelogue" feels like the last straw. Stop telling us there's no money to make TV when you're sending dull millionaires on free holidays. FOR FUCK'S SAKE! Who is watching this shit? *eye twitch*
The thing that irks me most about Clarkson’s AI jape (and I’m certainly not linking to it), is that the political parties will say they don’t approve of manipulating people’s images in this way, but have plausible deniability when it comes to their proxies who don’t give a shit.
