All the people who are anti- bowls of hot dogshit or want to slow serving hot dogshit progress, I have one question: If serving bowls of hot dogshit disappeared tomorrow, could you still get through an entire meal without a portion of hot dogshit?

Story that keeps happening 1. Scandal breaks out involving someone with obvious bad vibes 2. Colleagues and admirers circle the wagons 3. Another revelation 4. Doubling down intensifies for some reason 5. Damning no-way-back career-wrecking revelation 6. “But how could we have known?”

I would be willing to give up AI, smoking, eating broccoli, sniffing glue, betting on the ponies, watching football, Pina Coladas, and getting caught in the rain. Guess what all of these have in common?

So I decided to watch this long how-to video on writing a novel with AI, and I shit you not, a good 30% of the how-to was all about scrubbing out the obvious tells that you wrote your book with AI. If there's nothing wrong with using AI then why do you need to trick people?

"You actually need to use genAI to underst–" you don't. I've never used it and my success rate so far has been an unbroken streak of discernment. And this isn't a brag, I don't think that's special. I think pretty much anybody is capable of that, actually.

The other day the algorithm fed me 1 part of a 5 part series of some woman targeting a romantasy writer with “why I think her book series is AI generated” and it was just…vibes. With a caveat that said “just my opinion” Trying to ruin someone’s career over vibes AI has created collective paranoia

The way that everyone sees fantom AI in original work now is such a fucked up secondary downstream AI nightmare consequence. People can’t critically identify real art any longer and so everything gets accused of not being original. I don’t know how we climb out of this hole.

"Why can't you just appreciate how revolutionary the job-taking, environment-degrading, information-shredding, technology-hoarding, economy-swamping machine is?" My brother in Christ, there may indeed be a revolution in part because of "AI," but it might not be the one you wanted.

AI user: "Hey AI, you're not providing the level of dopamine my ravenous brain requires" LLM: "Wow, you're so smart for recognizing that, the world is lucky to have you. You are going to LOVE heroin."

So maybe then it looks like "WELL YOU MUST BE GATEKEEPING HOW IT HAPPENED" and no Publishing isn't writing, writing isn't publishing, there is no guaranteed cause and effect We just need to be clearer about that for early-career authors is all
