The Labour establishment have been vicious towards Zack since they realized the threat he poses to them And yet they are thinking that the Green Party should stand aside for them in Makerfield? Cooperation is a two-way street as are pluralism and respect

I personally would prefer it if Burnham could be swapped in quickly and easily, and it’d probably be better for the nation. But I see no reason why the Greens should now help people who just spent two weeks calling them hateful racist cranks trying to give heroin to children.

I hope this isn't true. There are times when it's more important to put country before party. This is one of them. Burnham's longstanding commitment to a fairer voting system could transform our democracy & counter the dire threat of a Reform UK government elected on a minority of the vote

The fact that a neo-Nazi teenager who attempted to behead a Kurdish barber in Bristol last year has just been sentenced to almost 20 years in prison isn’t *national* news is enormously telling. It’s really not just a South West story, is it?

I feel like Wes Streeting would be the current politician most likely to work with the Daleks then get exterminated ten minutes before the end of the episode.

Labour MPs calling for an orderly transition but unfortunately their government needs to be at least 18 years old with four doctors to sign off first

I can’t believe Zak Polanski didn’t originally pay the correct amount of council tax. This is worse than failing to declare a £5 million gift from a crypto billionaire and it’s correct that it’s receiving more press coverage, except it really very much isn’t.

This graph shows two things, 1) obviously that the cameras reduced speeding, but 2) that the improvement kept getting better over time. Speeders tend to get one or two tickets and then learn and change their behaviour. This isn't a cash grab, it's an extremely useful intervention.

The City of Ottawa posted the raw speed data from before and after Doug Ford banned speed cameras and the effect is so obvious it's not even necessary put a line marking when that happened. This chart shows the percentage of drivers going 15km/h or more over the posted limit.

In two years Keir Starmer’s government has tried to rob Disabled people of help, kept children in poverty, trashed nature protection, restricted peaceful protest, helped arm genocide, and moved to scrap jury trials. He says that Greens exploit despair. He has created it. We offer only hope.

Members of the Conservative Party and Reform Party were invited to speak the rally, but the Jewish leader of the Green Party, Zack Polanski, who opposes the Gaza genocide and has been vocal in his criticism of Israel, was not.

It never ceases to amaze me how many election pundits don’t understand the dynamics of First Past the Post, and how vote-splitting works under the UK’s electoral system. John Curtice does. Listen to John Curtice.

@cahokia.bsky.social Hiya! Just checked out Return to Daggerworld via one of those skeevy pdf sites (sorry!) to see if it was any good, and now I've seen that it's awesome stuff I'm going to buy a copy! My question: is Heart of Daggers or Itch better for you? Do you get more money from one of them?

One thing you won't hear on the News is that the Green Party got the 2nd highest number of votes in the Local Election. Ahead of everyone but Reform, and the Green vote is still growing.

#Bigtech consistently lies about the environmental impact of #DaraCentres. Why is it so hard to create and enforce rules that the polluter pays for the damage they caused? Most likely because if tech paid a true cost for their damage they'd be bankrupt. www.theguardian.com/technology/2...

Emissions understated by factor of five in Essex plans for tech giant, while Greystoke’s Lincolnshire plans show similar error
