It can be hard for CPTSD survivors who never had the safety or support to really develop our identity to take that project on as adults. Starting from scratch is intimidating. Begin by making a big list of things you like, that light you up (even a little), & looking for themes.

Managing CPTSD isn't just sitting in a room, struggling w/ CPTSD. It's doing all the life stuff we have to do-- work, grocery shopping, paying bills, going to funerals-- w/ Trauma Brain trying to hijack us 100% of the time. The "just get over it" crew doesn't understand that.

what incredible beauty there is in just existing for a moment. to sit and breathe and have a pumping heart. to let any goals or expectations fall away. to think 'wow i am here.' life is an unfathomable blessing but in quiet moments of acknowledgment i think we can at least REACH for understanding

'Maybe I'm not really sick and nothing's wrong and I just need to push myself harder' Folks, if you're already pushing yourself past what you consider your limits, I promise pushing harder will not help. You'll just end up breaking yourself.

Here on Bluesky my (or anyone's) participation in your online life is contingent on consent, and if I or anyone else withdraws it, that should be the end of it. A subsequent screencap after a quote removal suggests that consent is not a thing you care about, which is good for the rest of us to know.

I’ve learned not to follow up too closely on if those individuals end up in prison It’s paralyzing when they don’t go to the hospital instead of to prison I’m going to keep doing this work so that folks don’t rot in jail if where they need to be is treatment This is a huge part of my perspective

CPTSD is not primarily about what happened to us. It's about how what happened to us turned us into someone we didn't choose. The "just get over it" people don't understand that. We don't "just get over" who we've become. We have to recondition, rewire, reshape ourselves.

I just kind of feel like if you say that being evil is good, you've failed every basic semantic and philosophical test so severely that you should be hogtied and left in the Nunavut tundra
