*standing up on the plane* Star Trek: Deep Space Nine remains one of the best sci-fi shows because of its embrace of complicated characters, moral ambiguity under the surface of what others see as a utopian mission statement, and a standard twenty episode season giving the show a chance to breathe.

Everyone knows Hollywood is fucked, but most people don't actually know why. The studios used the strikes as cover to cancel a full 1/3rd of TV production across the board. 1/3 of TV cast & crew are out of work. Fully. There just aren't jobs for them. Many are people who made your favorite shows.

Lower Decks’ win is the first time in 30 years that a Star Trek story has won a Hugo Award. The last one was “All Good Things” in 1995.
