FWIW the adjective is very editorial but I doubt el-sayed would have that big a problem with it. The problem is that some people are incapable of distinguishing between Israel and the Jewish diaspora.

This is fucking ridiculous. Half the reason I became interested in him is because of how absolutely toxic the messaging from his opponents has been. There’s an enormous amount of cherry picking quotes without context and it is making us all irate.

The way this woman (Tara?) is talking about progressives and the DSA right now on @msnowreports.bsky.social @ms.now is half the reason none of us want to vote for anyone affiliated with her. It’s so much bigger than that. Grad students are the backbone of academia. They do the grading and proctor the tests. They make copies for the professor who is overbooked with a thousand responsibilities. They help the undergrads transition to adult life. And they do it for a pittance.

As with so many things, it is critical to realize this is not bumbling or ineptitude or not thinking through policy implications. On the contrary: making it impossible for foreign students to do the doctorate here is THE WHOLE POINT. It’s about starving higher ed under the guise of America first.
