A Russian drone completely burned down the Holy Protection Church (Sviato-Vvedenska) in Boryslav, Kherson region, built in 1726. The church was an architectural monument of national significance and one of the few surviving examples of Cossack wooden sacral architecture.

Your humble servant has a written a book about the social science of poverty in Cold War Latin America and the contexts that shaped its creation, from international sources like the Ford Foundation to dictatorships across the region. The book is in production and will be ready at the end of 2026

Een mooie stroman. Steun voor minder migratie is al sinds de jaren negentig normaal onder politici. Job Cohen voerde al in 2000 de strenge Vreemdelingenwet in. Twee jaar later kwam de Fortuynrevolte. Anti-immigratiesentiment kun je niet doen verdwijnen met beleid.

In een vertegenwoordigende democratie zullen populaire standpunten vroeg of laat vertegenwoordigd worden. Steun voor minder migratie was onder kiezers allang normaal, nu is het dat ook onder politici. Al vinden progressieven het pijnlijk, de democratie is dus niet stuk. @jessefrederik.bsky.social
