Dear Seattle media: Has anyone checked on the search for the third Seattle Center shooting suspect lately? Or on how the survivors and victims' families are coping? Asking on behalf of roughly 850,000 friends.

A new housing development near Lake Stevens is bulldozing a forest and calling itself The Timbers. Is this sprawling, car-dependent place really the best place to build new homes? Couldn’t we be allowing more housing in our core cities and protecting these forests?

The fact that drivers may freely menace other road users is one of the most astonishing but least contested aspects of modern life.
It’s been a long road to get to this moment, but i wouldn’t trade it for anything. The road was filled with an unwavering belief in a better housing system. A dedication to achieving what others said was impossible. I’m feeling so proud and humbled today 🥲
This is the moment in a recent Board meeting our Board and staff celebrated our plans to buy our first ever social housing building — Elara at the Market. Today we can finally say we are officially the owners, and social housing is a reality in Seattle!
SSHD will focus on creating 2, 3 and some 4 bedroom homes. These larger family-sized units are rarely built by private market developers as they aren’t “profitable” or often by affordable housing sector due to financing constraints. www.fox13seattle.com/news/seattle...

Seattle Councilmember Eddie Lin today riffing on the absurdity of having an appeal process for citywide land use decisions that doesn't exist in any other context, a fact that often delays action on impactful legislation by months and years...and anyone can file an appeal from anywhere.
I say without hyperbole that this is the most brazenly corrupt action in US Presidential history. That it does not immediately lead to impeachment is a dangerous sign of how far the rule of law has declined.
When did we normalize this? When did it become okay for a president to tell a female reporter she’s a ‘dumb person’ for asking a totally legitimate question about his contradictory answers? Was there a specific date and time it become okay? Normal? Normalized?
TRUMP: We have a ballroom that's under budget. It's going up right here. I've doubled the size of it because we obviously need that. REPORTER: The price doubled TRUMP: I doubled the size of it, you dumb person. You are not a smart person.
