One of the things that keeps coming up in municipal progress reports on their housing targets is they can’t hit their affordable housing requirements. They can’t because they put up roadblocks for everything. @christineboyle.bsky.social could fix this with guaranteed approval timelines.

so the West Hotel has been sold to a private investor who will probably evict everyone, do a surface reno and market the rooms as micro lofts renting at 3x current rate. this clearance sale is ongoing and facilitated by the city time to do the things, @christineboyle.bsky.social

Tenancy advocates are calling on the B.C. government to stop the private selling of buildings on Vancouver’s downtown east side. As APTN’s Tina House shares, many of these sales are resulting in evictions.

Mamdani left soccer field lights on all night…..the lights usually go off at 10pm. They set a camera up and guess what they saw?? Residents playing soccer with their friends ALL NIGHT. One man said how much he loved it because his friends work late and can’t get to the field before 10pm.

Periodic reminder that a professor at University of Illinois read the same ethnic cleansing papers that I had read, and realized that if Trump won the election he really would put Stephen Miller in charge of immigration.🤦🏿‍♂️ So he took out insurance against a drop in Asian students. It paid out big!🤷🏿‍♂️
