this is the hour of my greatest struggle: last ADHD pill today (wearing off) with no refill because I forgot, half painted and sanded kitchen and hallway and I am tired. i cannot have it like this for the next 3 months, please help me
for those who celebrate: it is the 20th anniversary of a funny dog eat a pepsi.
In addition to this, this is why they have been pushing DV abusers into power position. They want to destabilize women and dv victims and empower abusive men.
Rape is the central pillar of the right-wing agenda, the right to terrorize other people in the most intimate way possible.
HOLY FUCK DOESNT THIS SOUND FAMILIAR. it's like they read out of a fucking book of tropes. it's like they all get together and discuss exactly what to say at a weekly meeting of domestic abusers.
Rep. Max Miller on Newsmax: "If any of these things were true, I would be in prison"
you will never guess what this is in response to
Clearly more well than you. Your pearl clutching and emotional posts won't achieve anything.
Daaaamn. “AI is the asbestos we're shovelling into the walls of our technological society. Our descendants will spend generations digging it out again, and the longer the bubble goes on without popping, the longer it will take to repair the damage." www.thenerve.news/p/cory-docto...
Cory Doctorow: The people who tell you ‘AI is changing everything’ are lying
It has become impossible to tell managers mesmerised by artificial intelligence that the tools are not, in fact, helpful. So employees just play along with the fiction to keep their jobs, writes our t...

Look how cool! A person I'm acquainted with on Instagram does photography with antique equipment and he did a portrait of his cat using a camera made in 1926. www.instagram.com/glass_negati...
I miss when this was the worst misinformation our country had to deal with:
This is a wildly prescient story about Chicago's proto-RFK Jr., in charge of public health during the Spanish Flu. He thought beer killed malaria and that bathing could kill you. He had a feud with an actual TB doctor, who insisted bathing is good. He bullied the TB doctor until he killed himself.
i genuinely cannot stop laughing at this picture, i'm crying someone please make a drawing of it
when you're doin' w'nit with a little joy, a little enthusiasm, a little bit of energy, and a little bit of "stick it to em"
Btw what this guy is talking about is that she got her daughter medical care WITHOUT HIS PERMISSION. Which is exactly what abusers fixate on, losing control.
Rep. Max Miller: "When I was reported for child abuse of my daughter for a broken collarbone, my daughter was in my ex-wife's care 9 out of the last 11 days and she took her to the emergency room, which is a contempt violation from our shared parenting plan."
the last week has been extremely triggering for people who have been through dv or who are having to navigate shared parenting with a man like this. if you have a friend or family member who is part of that group, please check in with them.

honestly can't stress enough, as a former family law attorney, how depressingly common Max Miller's behavior and words are, right down to the petty fixation on custody procedure and rules when faced with allegations of shocking violence.

'You'll choke too' - an aerial embroidery landscape inspired by all the wildfires happening right now... I'm upset every time I smell smoke outside and somehow we have people starting them maliciously too! But we all breathe the same air so they'll choke too (1/2 - see thread for close-ups)
When you get two cats, how do they decide which one will have a tiny chirp like a pixie’s doorbell and which one will wail like the ghost of a jilted bride?
men: women are shallow and all of them only want buff, cut dudes with six packs like 80% of the women i've met on the internet: i'd let Matt Berry smash me like a pinata
The latest batshit internet scandal is men accusing women of “lying” when stating a preference for Ollie Murs’ before pic. So I unpacked all that nataliaantonova.substack.com/p/this-inter...
Guys will listen to male influencer bullshit about needing to have a six pack and manipulate everyone and meanwhile women will go “you know who is the sexiest fucking guy I’ve ever seen?” and post this
“If this was true, I would be in jail” is not a real profession of innocence; it is a brag about how strenuously the state protects the male right of private sphere violence against women and children.
Those who believe things like this are working hard at not understanding the finite options available to someone whose abuser has not been prosecuted, found guilty, etc. by the law. And how rarely those things happen to abusers, esp. high-status white male abusers.
Things I and friends have done to calm an angry abusive man from further escalating and killing us or our children: -Smiled -Kept normal schedules in order not to trigger a fight -Appeased with kind acts (cooking, cleaning, favors) -Forced friendly tones and words
Rep. Max Miller: "My former wife has claimed that during a custody exchange at my home that day, I assaulted her…If I had assaulted her, would she have offered to cook me dinner six days later?"
I work with women all the time who allow their husbands to rape them to avoid a beating. Who clean and cook and keep their children quiet to avoid them all being killed. So yes.
Rep. Max Miller: "My former wife has claimed that during a custody exchange at my home that day, I assaulted her…If I had assaulted her, would she have offered to cook me dinner six days later?"
Appropriate air quotes because the most infuriating part about Americans debating "lockdown" is that it simply never happened. Having to pick up your Applebees and eat it on the sectional does not count. There wasn't even a brief moment where "everything" was closed. That's not real.
if you hated covid "lockdowns" try long covid
had a nice little cry tonight that my kid will remember her 10th summer as the one where we had to stay inside for weeks because of the smoke and it hurt to breathe while she was trying to sleep, vs my own 10th summer where my biggest issue was that sometimes the crickets were too loud at bedtime.
Sincerely yes. I’m drinking from the hose baby. I’m coming home when the street lights go on. I’m drinking a quart of milk a day.
It’s hard to explain but tv was better when you couldn’t watch the show you wanted whenever you wanted to watch it and most of the shows were worse and the TVs were worse and the entire experience was worse, that’s when it was better
It's not a coincidence that everyone still whining, in the year of our lord 2026, about covid lockdowns are all people who should be forcibly locked in their homes with all the doors and windows bolted shut from the outside while the rest of us just quietly forget that they ever existed at all
