Hello! For a potential piece on Eurogamer, I would love to know what cool little things people in and around games are working on. Not full games, but fun, interesting, weird projects or side projects. Things you're noodling around with, things you just think are neat. Replies/reposts very welcome!

Blue Bottle Games, as a policy, does not use generative AI. It's something we've discussed as a team, weighing the pros and cons, and ultimately, we decided it was not for us. Recently, while chatting with a colleague, she mentioned it was useful hearing our reasoning. So: Sharing time! 1/12

Please buy this game and enjoy it with your mind open and your heart vulnerable. It hits so, so good in these times, and it's ALSO a fun game on top of being rich with sentiment and imagination! Also two of the best OSTs for late night drives mmmmhmm...

But though they’re quick in execution, they’re not exactly easy to implement. We speak to Beethoven & Dinosaur + @blendogames.bsky.social to understand why.

Videogames Are Rediscovering the Jump Cut

Standout sequences in 007 First Light and Mixtape have embraced one of cinema's favourite tools. But if it were that easy to use, everyone would be doing it.

I keep seeing arguments for games being expensive due to hyper realistic expectations for art, or simply lots of art. What I don’t see is the actual most costly reason: Indecision Iteration is good, but the yearly rebuilding of entire characters, storylines, and levels, is the most expensive thing

Many factors at play here - not the least of which is higher-ups (in their infinite wisdom) not being able to commit to anything, or knowing good from bad All the while the economy at large expects the profit line go infinitely up, absolutely ignoring its undeniable tendency to do the opposite
