The pressure on kids too! In Berlin they get divided after the 6th class (12). My eldest already under so much pressure (despite us trying to remove it) to do well in exams etc to ensure she’s at the gymnasium. Parents going nuts in regards to it. They’re 9!

I had to write something today about how sustainability is often seen as a drag on progress and innovation in AI circles (because > compute = > progress) and it's completely nuts that *in a scientific field* sustainability is not understood to be one of the primary goals of innovation.

It is mad that we have, somehow, allowed net zero - a policy common to all major parties under 5 years ago and supported by a majority of the public - to become a synoym for mad radicalism. It is doubly mad that we've allowed this to happen during the hottest summer on record.

It's wild that despite not having any leftwing parties, the American public find this even vaguely plausible. Goes to show that we all probably have national blindspots that we can't see ourselves but that seem blindingly obvious to folks from abroad.

This is flat wrong from Unite. It’s just not true there’s been ‘almost no thought for jobs, skills and national security’. There’s been a huge amount of thought on all these issues and a decision has been made that jobs, skills, and security all benefit from a faster clean energy transition.

It goes against the crowd but I genuinely think that Burnham will deliver us a Reform government; if he wins he's 100% going to get caught out by the vast quantity of nonsense in his campaign and if Labour try to switch him out they'll end up being punished like the Tories.

I don’t think it’s anything to do with not understanding the UK’s fiscal position, but his desire to please everyone. It’s why his record in GM needs much more scrutiny than it’s getting. Buses are GM politics in easy mode. He’s consistently avoided the third rail of congestion charging.
