++BREAKING++ The Daily Telegraph has... *rubs eyes* ...published something sensible about climate change: "I’m coming to the view that the Online Right is going wrong, eschewing compassion or charm, talking itself into corners of angry irrelevance. Take climate change."

The 'green' fuel market supplying Europe with used cooking oil, appears to be rife with fraud. An investigation by SVT has uncovered that the world's largest producer of biofuel for aviation, Neste, is likely receiving virgin palm oil instead of recycled frying oil.

I'm getting worried about the narrative about how big a problem high electricity costs are for UK businesses. Whenever I look at the data... there are just hardly any industries spending more than a few per cent of their turnover on electricity.

The utterly shameless & widely covered "report" out today, claiming net zero will "cost" £9tn is based on: * Assuming free fossil-fuel energy, free petrol cars, free gas boilers, free gas power plants etc AND * Including climate damages in the "cost" of net zero I kid you not, it is that stupid
🧵A political/media guide to the "truth" about net-zero 1) Add up costs to install & run a net-zero energy system 2) Pretend fossil-fuelled alternatives wld be free 3) Do say "eco zealots are bankrupting us" 4) Don't say "free cars if we scrap net-zero" cos it sounds ridiculous 5) That's it! 1/10

Going to give this a Saturday morning plug. If you want a little dive into the hottest topic in the energy world right now - whether we can still blame gas for high energy bills - this is your piece
Is gas still the reason GB energy prices are high? New Nesta blog by me. There's been a lot of talk about non-commodity costs on electricity bills, and how they're now dominating bill rises. My conclusion is: yes, they're a problem and need tackling; but they're not yet as big a problem as gas.
There's lots more in the blog, including why it's not as a simple as "non-commodity costs are all down to net zero" either. Thanks to @mashley.bsky.social for doing a lot of the analysis behind this (which you'll hopefully see more of soon!)
Is gas still the reason energy bills are so high?
Despite rising non-commodity costs on energy bills, high gas prices remain the primary reason for expensive energy for most British households, making the switch to homegrown energy a top priority

Silly Jimmy Kimmel. He should have just called for all homeless people to be killed and he’d still have a job.
While the Home Office wastes resources arresting people peacefully opposing genocide, the rise of the far right, fuelled by racist agitators and foreign billionaires whipping up hatred in our communities, continues unchecked. When will the govt get their priorities in order?
In the 1930s Mosley and his rank and file BUF were careful not to outwardly portray themselves as racists. They weren't antisemitic... far from it... they were just concerned about "bad principles" and "international bankers" and the influx of foreigners Everyone knew what they meant.
