To the surprise of absolutely fucking no-one, the MEPs in question are: Regina Doherty, Nina Carberry, Seán Kelly (FG) Barry Andrews, Barry Cowen, Billy Kelleher (FF) Ciaran Mullooly (II) I've said it before - no need for a far-right party in Ireland, as the establishment parties are already there.

Would like to see a journalist ask the 7 of Ireland's 14 MEPs (3 FG, 3 FF, 1 II) who just voted to: -endorse burqa bans -call "hatred of Israel" a sign of "Islamist influence" -identify European Muslim communities as potential tools of "malign foreign actors" to justify themselves

Believes that the practice of concealing the face in public spaces and premises open to the public poses an unacceptable challenge to public security, identification and effective law enforcement; supports, therefore, all national measures aimed at prohibiting full-face coverings (niqab or burqa) in public spaces and premises open to the public as a necessary step to ensure social cohesion, public safety and the protection of the rights and freedoms of others, in particular women

Just mastering a single for a super talented artist, song is a total groove. Then halfway through something happens...folks, I cannot overstate the visceral joy a total belter of a sax solo brings. Magnificent. Day made. #mastering

We maintain that there's no way to implement age verification without compromising sensitive data. Those who choose to opt out of this get a censored experience. A reminder: the leaders pushing for age verification broadly aren't doing so for child safety. Their aim is information control.

Can get on board with this, but surely instead of super-cardioid and hyper-cardioid, we just ditch hyper for "super-duper-cardioid". Also, hat? Clearly a kidney bean. Balloon sword is ok, but am I the only one seeing Earthworm Jim? #audionerds & #soundengineers of #speirghorm, weigh in here

Names of mic pickup patterns. We must stop the nonsense. I'm never going to learn which one is "hyper-cardioid." My concrete proposal for simplified nomenclature:

Diagrams of standard microphone pickup patterns labelled as what they look like: O, 8, Hat, Hat on head, Hat on fat head, Balloon sword

Bluesky should go back to invites, continue aggressive bot bans, create a Craigslist-style marketplace (since you’re more likely to buy/get services from a educated or good person on here than any other social network), and market this place like a walled garden protected from enshittification.

Regulatory reader here. A lot of the issues would be clarified or relieved if they fixed what ‘making available on the market’ means. Currently MAOTM includes shipments made free of charge— so just mailing a demo tape to a polish cousin would count as a commercial activity. And that’s silly.

I can't stress enough the importance of making shitty things. Shitty writing. Shitty art. Shitty paintings. Shitty films. Shitty songs. Shitty sculptures. Shitty is beautiful, because it's human. There's no glory without shitty. Get out there and shit things up.

For a junk drawer to legally qualify as a real junk drawer, what is the ONE absolute mandatory item it must include? A dead battery that has been taken out and tried approximately 37 times already when some gadget has died, that despite being empty, seems to always find its way back into the drawer

for a junk drawer to legally qualify as a real junk drawer, what is the ONE absolute mandatory item it must include? an old charging cable that has one of the odd tiny USB shapes nothing uses anymore but something you have must use it or it wouldn’t be in there so you should probably just leave it

Chambers is basically a US Republican in a FF suit. Totally fine with facist policies like not allowing court challenges when government are not following the law. No interest in spending taxpayer funds on important things like climate, cause that won't help him win more power, god for-fucking-bid.

Feljin Jose@feljin.ie · 2mo ago

Jack Chambers wants you to believe that the Climate Act of 2021 is the reason for decades of poor infrastructure delivery and not the decisions of decades of Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael governments
