I met DaVaun for the first time last year, & though it was brief, he impressed upon me the urgency of supporting our fellow marginalized writers. This is so hard to hear 😞 FIYAH has been inspirational to me & has done so much for Black SFF writers. Whatever comes next, I will support loud & proud 💜

Difficult post, but past time to rip the band aid off. FIYAH is going on hiatus indefinitely, with issue #40 currently set to be our last for the time being. The mag cannot continue running at a loss, and needs time to reassess operations from top to bottom if a viable path forward is to be created.

There's has been a lot of discourse lately about reviews, especially for older and indie titles. NEW YEAR, NEW YOU, released in 2024, got lovely coverage from indie & mainstream reviewers alike. I wanted to highlight them again w/ a big THANK YOU 🧵 (and we're still happy to give out review copies!)
