Ken Jennings showing everyone why you don't trust a single fucking person who calls themselves an ally, getting others to coordinate a harassment campaign to force a trans woman off the internet, all because he's a fucking bigot who wants us dead, but wants access to lib spaces

can you guys retire "the right wing / chuds don't know what to do with trans men and forget they exist and will be So Confused by them!!!!" already. they are fully aware trans men exist and the thing they do to trans men is violently abuse and murder them

When living in Ohio with my caretaker, they made it nearly impossible to get it with their work schedule - demanding an in person interview during work hours. But simultaneously, I wasn’t eligible at all not being able to work. This resulted in neither getting it. Whic I believe was the point.

Interesting place to cut him off. Might he have expounded on this..? And then refused to clarify what "policy decisions" apparently need to be made about whether trans girls can play sports with their friends?

“I don’t think we win by selling people out,” Talarico responded. “We’re refusing to do that in this campaign. This is a campaign of, by, and for all Texans, and I think people are really tired of these culture war fights that are designed to tear us apart, designed to get us angry.”

“There are difficult issues. Trying to figure out trans athletes in sports, that’s an issue where we could actually come to a policy solution, but instead, politicians like Ken Paxton, they use those difficult issues to rile people up, to divide us, to distract us in order to win power for themselves.”

Maddow was referring to how Talarico’s opponent in the Senate race, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, and other Republicans have attacked Talarico repeatedly for supporting trans rights and for not being masculine enough. This includes constantly highlighting his opposition to the state’s trans sports ban and ban on gender-affirming care for trans minors, as well as comments he made about how the gender binary isn’t real and how he appreciates trans kids. Also in this interview with Maddow, he appeared to say that he may support some restrictions on trans people’s participation in sports when he called the issue one “where we could actually come to a policy solution,” aligning him with other Democrats like former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D), and Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-WA). LGBTQ Nation has asked Talarico’s campaign to provide more details on his position on trans sports participation, and this article will be updated if they respond.

Maddow asked #JamesTalarico about attacks on #trans people and those who think that to win, Dems must "moderate" on trans rights. Talarico answered, "I don't believe we win by selling people out." #Texas

Please be "civil and polite" as you engage with people about whether or not you're human! We have tools to help you curate your feeds, like blocklists. Only, you can only make those lists descriptive if you title them, say, 'mean trannies i want to kill' instead of 'nazi white women.'

Bluesky's new CEO Toni Schneider on the platform's reputation for being a liberal bubble: "Yes, we definitely want that to change. It is already changing. It certainly wasn’t designed to attract one specific group of people."

I know there's going to be a mixed response to this but there's only one week - until August 4th - left to leave a comment about the ATF's change to background check forms that would de facto single out and ban trans people from legally buying firearms.

Is The Trump Administration Attempting A Backdoor Gun Ban For Trans Americans?

Reporting indicates that the Trump admin is considering requiring gun applicants list their "biological sex at birth," which could put them in a bureaucratic catch-22 if it does not match their ID.

"As part of this peace deal, you must let me keep attacking you. Also, you must give up all your weapons. Also, the only people who have consistently mentioned the facts of what is happening aren't allowed to watch or say anything anymore." I just...

Basically the height of caricature at this point: Israel is demanding that as part of the ceasefire agreement with Hamas, it be allowed to continue attacking Gaza.

🚨Israel has formally objected to three provisions in the Board of Peace approved roadmap for Gaza, including demands that would allow it to continue striking the territory, prevent Hamas’s collected weapons from remaining under the NCAG’s control, and exclude Qatar and Turkey from verifying compliance, Haaretz reported.

🔸 Continued Israeli attacks:
Israel is demanding continued freedom to carry out strikes across Gaza even after the agreement takes effect. A source familiar with the matter told Haaretz that “Israel demands freedom to strike areas of the Gaza Strip.”

RE: cyclosporiasis discourse The US gov isn't going to do anything to even curb this, y'all know that, right? They've identified it as hurting those that eat lettuce, a group they largely associate with The Other, and are now dead set on killing as many people as possible with it.

O’Neal helped purge me & all the other Black full-time staff columnists at the Post Opinion Section. I challenged his move to fire me in the aftermath of the Charlie Kirk killing. And he testified against me in June. We are expecting an arbitration ruling soon. Convenient time for him to quit.
