We’re going to hear about how everyone loved Dolly, and that feels true. But it’s good to remember, and to her credit, that she was attacked for her AIDS activism, her vaccine advocacy, her LGBTQ+ support and even, more recently, for her reading initiatives. She ALWAYS stood firm when it mattered.

"In a world with magic, why would anyone be in a wheelchair?" How accessible is the magic? What are the limitations of the magic? Etcetera? In some cases, I imagine the question would be a bit like asking why someone doesn't just use the second house they surely must own for something.

2.34% of all Americans are trans, according to US government census data. This number absolutely POLEAXES me, and from what I can see in the source data, the number is completely and totally legitimate and based on a colossal datapool of almost 2.5 MILLION respondents. Let's dig in.

@rikiwilchins.bsky.social Worth nothing that all these polls using slightly different measures and questions to determine who is trans or gay, but it seems earlier estimates were clearly way too conservative. Also startling that there are about as many trans as gay adults in US.

They would NOT get along. I want to put them in a jar and shake it around. Bentley's insecurities manifest as arrogance. He'd make subtle digs at Dylan's intelligence & appearance. Dylan, not one to suffer a bully, would lash out disproportionately in response. They fistfight for 8 full pages.

I do think not enough people know this - everything after a question mark in a URL is garbage. You can delete it all and the URL still works fine. Strip that shit out when sharing anything.

I saw an infographic a couple years ago about how to remove source identifiers from links and why it's important, but I can't find it again and too many people I know are sending me links with them so here's an infographic straight from the oven

Header text: "HEY YOU! YES YOU! TAKE THIS SHIT OUT OF LINKS!" This is followed by a couple example urls, with a red square highlighting the sections with source identifiers. The rest of the text is as follows: Source identifiers are used to track your activity on a site. Where you came from, what device you use, and even who you talk to. Whether it's written clearly in the url or tied to a random string of characters, it's assigned to your activity. When you send a link containing a source identifier to somebody and they click it, it signals to the website that you two are connected. And that data goes right back to the website operators, and thus their advertisers. Whenever you select "share" or "copy link" on a social app or website, it creates a link like this. If you give even the smallest shit about online privacy, it's important to remove them. Everything after the "?" symbol can be removed without issue, especially sections starting with "si=" or "utm_source="
