I don't do it for the cynical marketing reason, I do it because how disappointed I feel when I'm enjoying a video and start smelling the AI, and I want to reassure my viewers that they don't need to worry about that. But there's multiple benefits to being clear about it.

One guy in my comments: "So sick of people performatively saying they didn't use AI." Several other people in the comments: "Hit subscribe as soon as you said no AI." Even just at a cynical marketing level being loudly anti AI is the way to go.

If you rendered BlueSky threads into PDF documents, those PDF documents would require less memory to display than what "bsky.app" uses.

Am somewhat sus of the event based ewaste thing that conference badges represent but the 2026 Space facing for the tildagon at EMF is such a delightful thing. Some people in Leigh Hack Space used the fact it's got 12 touch sensitive pads to make a one octave synth controller.

It does this on a whole-ass PC that's not doing anything else as well, btw. Clownshoes operation, "reactive" sites were the worst thing ever invented. Give us fucking paginated and/or &before=date and &after=date options as the universe intended.

yeah the bsky website is so poorly optimized it's unreal i have to use the website on my ipad (because there's still no native ipad app after what, three years now?) and every so often i have to just close the tab and reopen the site because it eats up so many resources that it becomes unresponsive

The State Department said ​it takes "full responsibility" for "hastily" altering and then presenting a map of Africa at a global AIDS conference that mislabeled every single country it highlighted. An analysis by Reuters found a watermark in the map image that suggests it was made with OpenAI.
