It's cheap to criticize The Odyssey by saying "That's not how it was in the poem," but I'm gonna do it by saying Damon was playing a person very very different from the Odysseus I think of. I also wanted the "No Man" part from the poem. The siren stuff was different, but it ripped so I liked it.

All the salad apocalypse chatter reminds us that the normal work of government to maintain the commons—good roads, regulations, food inspections, public health etc—is what allows economies to prosper and businesses to plan and compete and make money

You know very well that 85% of Jews don't support AIPAC, not even close. You also know that AIPAC doesn't even claim to be a Jewish group. You also know that there are more "Christian Zionists" in the US, than there are Jews, of any beliefs. You are making US Jews less safe.

Enjoyed parts of White Teeth but in full it didn't make me levitate. Many great passages though, and great little lines, like this one "John Donne said more than kisses, letters mingle souls and so they do."

Backrooms was very fun. It brought to mind Piranesi, Blaire Witch Project, Skinamarink, and, most of all, Annihilation! The terror of the infinite and the uncanny, now at your local furniture store.
