For the past five months the only refugees the USA has accepted are white South Africans fleeing equality & safety meanwhile they are disappearing or strapping ankle monitors on any Haitian they can get ahold of. It needs to be understood how thoroughly connected these two things are.

Eli Roth confirms that generative AI was used in his new horror film ‘ICE CREAM MAN’. “It was an opportunity where technology and creativity came together to help bring my vision for the film to life.” (Source: www.polygon.com/eli-roth-ice...)
Just very depressing to me that this sincerity, honesty, and clarity is a huge electoral risk while muttering the same three slogans over and over again forever is savvy campaigning with a proven track record of success.
El-Sayed: "I believe in equal rights to peace, dignity, and self-determination, for Palestinians and Jewish Israelis alike... If that’s 2 states, I’m for it. If it’s 1 state, I’m for that. If it’s this 'land for all' model, ... or whatever they decide." www.newyorker.com/news/the-new...
Damn he gets it:

More of this, please. You cannot answer the “how many states question” without first developing a plan to secure Palestinian rights and sovereignty. It does not matter where the border is drawn if Palestine/Palestinians are defenseless.

I was talking with a swing state Trump voter this weekend. He said he was for a two state solution. I said it was the wrong question—how would Palestine defend itself? What about the right of return? He got quiet, & ultimately agreed we need to force Israel to answer these questions. It’s not hard!
The Supah Scawwy ~IRGC~ is Independently Trying to Continue a Losing War While the Politicians Are Desperate to Surrender and Join the Abraham Accords vs No They're Not
Iran Is Lying Secretly And Is Willing To Surrender Unilaterally And Let America Destroy It And Impose Pax Israelica Onto The Region Vs No It Is Not.
I had become accustomed to thinking that a viral post on Bluesky was 4000 likes but every day for the past week I’ve seen something like this that has 27,000
It’s hard to explain but tv was better when you couldn’t watch the show you wanted whenever you wanted to watch it and most of the shows were worse and the TVs were worse and the entire experience was worse, that’s when it was better
"You think your pain and your heartbreak are unprecedented in the history of the world, but then you read." Happy birthday, James Baldwin!
nice joke, lol, reminds me of this unrelated political thing i can’t stop talking about
West Coast cities are caught in a doom loop where the problem keeps growing but political elites refuse to admit that solving it requires more funding. Every few years someone comes along promising to "finally" crack down, gets elected and fails to deliver. That would have been worth writing about.
mass incarceration advocates without an explanation for why there's still needles despite police having *vastly* more funding and political influence than needle exchanges
IDK if people are talking about Kai Cenat's public reading journey, but he's using his power for good. A lot of people can't read. At least not at what we consider adequate levels. And it is not their fault. Society as a whole severely pulled away from literacy advocacy.
I think a lot of us millennials & older really take it for granted that we were the last of only a couple generations where there was an all-encompassing campaign to encourage literacy. Everyone used to agree upon it. There were commercials with your favorite celebrities just being like, "READ!"
this comment was posted 2 years ago and this dude is still editing it. and people are liking it and commenting on it. what the fuck is going on.
[me today, finally listening to the Beastie Boys after being recommended to do so for years] why did no one recommend me these guys sooner
"Ain't It Fun" is some of the worst drivel to ever reach the charts by a bunch of sellouts. Paramore abandons their pop-punk and emo origins to get some sweet, sweet pop cash, and we're all supposed to sit here and pretend they aren't taking the piss.
Post your hottest music take. Mine is New Order is better than Joy Division.
"Somebody I Used To Know" is objectively dogshit. Pure drivel.

Concerns over fake phenomena cannot be held in good faith. There's no such thing as "good faith" concern over razorblades in Halloween apples or vaccines causing autism. If you still have 'concerns' about these issues you are uninformed, a bigot or being manipulated. No other option.

🇹🇳 Over the last few weeks, I've caught a lot folks who don't follow Tunisia on a regular basis wondering what protests in the country -- be it around the five year anniversary of Kais Saied's power grab or the widespread electricity and water cuts -- might mean.

My neurodivergent headcanon for the 60’s Batman series is that Bruce Wayne’s parents hired a troupe of eccentrics on retainer to keep him entertained, in the untimely event of their death.
