This is so alarming. I’ve put extremely sensitive information in Google Docs, eg notes from client interviews and investigative records about sexual assaults, intimate partner violence, etc. for my job as an advisor/advocate for Title IX complainants. I also WORKED ON ACCESS CONTROL at Google.

i once knew a guy who was casing houses for a burglary ring. the kicker: he was a cop; he was checking out stuff to steal when he was going to houses for calls. he did 3.5 years from a 5 year sentence
Useless would be a step up for cops. More often they actively make situations worse. Especially if you don't baby their fragile egos.
Half the time when you hear about some major cold case being cracked it's like, "some person called with a tip 20 years ago but the cops ignored it."
My neighbor across the street got burglarized and he said the cops literally said "we're on to these guys" after saying "they've hit 20 houses in the area" and then he asked why they were able to hit 20 houses if the cops were "on to these guys" and that was the end of the investigation lol
