Fair enough, but the non-partisan polls of the races also did very poorly: - Emerson: El-Sayed +16 - Tavern: AES +10 - Glengariff: Stevens +7 - Mitchell: AES +14 Looks less like partisan pollsters rigging their data and more like a combination of late movement and biased samples across the board

Whoever ends up winning the Democratic nomination for Senate in Michigan, I hope with little expectation that those who took seriously polls showing a rout for El-Sayed will think twice about relying on questionable and/or partisan polls.

I think on the whole it’s totally fine in principle to urge people to be cautious in how they talk about AIPAC et al but some people really do need to get it thru to themselves that it is actually exceptional for one organization to spend >30M on a single primary like it’s nothing.

l love when a white journalist reporting on “concerns of lack of diversity” in DSA fumbles the name of the Latina elected official he interviews for the article. My name is Moreno, not Morales.

Diana Moreno, who earlier this year won the special election for the New York State Assembly seat Mamdani vacated to move to Gracie Mansion, said non-DSA Democrats should pay attention to how the group is whipping up support. Democrats, she argued, are “out of touch and losing primaries, and with a base that’s deeply angry at their inability or unwillingness to fight against the far right.” To Moreno, democratic socialism “means healthcare, that means housing, that means childcare. That is the responsibility of government to actually guarantee for its citizens because it’s something that we need to live.”At one of the panels, Morales touted working on a bill she picked up from Mamdani in the New York State Assembly that would strip tax-exempt status from groups that do work deemed detrimental to Palestinians. At another point, when an Ithaca, New York, council member was recalling being warned about participating in Palestinian solidarity rallies the day after Hamas’ October 7, 2023, attack on Israel, an audience member loudly giggled multiple times. Regarding a candidate who doesn’t describe the war in Gaza as genocide, Morales told CNN, “I don’t know if I would trust their judgment in other issues, because I think to me it’s blatant and clear that what’s happening in Palestine and has been happening for now years is considered a genocide.”

Tbf if I lived in Ohio I would vote for Acton. Her comment on “settled law” is concerning but I think that and her other behavior stems from wanting to say the word “transgender” as few times as possible, and not that she has broken with the Dem consensus on youth access to puberty blockers and HRT

For that reason, it's very important that we elect people who are pro-Palestine because they hate apartheid and don't hold animus towards American Jews rather than people who are pro-Palestine because they believe Jews control their TV and cancelled their favorite non-woke shows.
