When we fight for autistic and disabled people's legitimate (yet embattled) rights to live in their communities, remember that we must ALSO fight for disabled people's caregivers and direct service professionals have fair pay and sufficient supports, too. One important policy lesson from this story is how Facebook committed blatant tax fraud in 2013 (Zuckerberg's stock options as R&D) and still hasn't been forced to pay it and thus learned that tax fraud is an acceptable business practice and so is doing it again.

If Trump started injecting every immigrant with bubonic plague, the Supreme Court would rule that while they take a year or two to decide if it's constitutional, the program should go forward because to not let Trump inject people with bubonic plague would do irreparable harm to the government

Based on countless interviews I’ve done with survivors, the trauma they are subjected to for coming forward is oftentimes even worse than the initial trauma they experienced. There is no real justice system

Same story with a friend of mine, who is now actually quite famous. She dropped out after my university refused to discipline the two men who raped her, and made her sit in the same class with her in her specialized major. Her planned entire career path ended immediately.

She went through the internal system, which exonerated the men and accused and blamed her. We wanted her to bring charges and a court case… but she was so broken by then. She dropped out. Burn it all down.
