The 988 suicide prevention hotline's Press 3 option — which provides specialized services to LGBTQ callers — has been restored more than a year after the Trump administration shut it down. Confirmed by HHS and the office of Senator Tammy Baldwin, who led on legislation that forced its restoration

as always when this is posted, i have to fondly remember the time someone stole this tweet word for word, including using my name as the punchline, then claimed it was just independent discovery
The VA lost about 700 social workers and 500 psychologists and psychiatrists over the course of 2025 — a significant change for an agency that was adding mental health staffers nearly every month leading up to Trump’s return to office. (Published March)
Veterans Who Depend on Mental Health Care Keep Losing Their Therapists Under Trump
Hundreds of mental health professionals have left the Department of Veterans Affairs since President Donald Trump took office, leaving staff “at a breaking point” and some veterans waiting as long as ...

“SI” means “suicidal ideation” in medical speak, including at VA (where suicide prevention is a major priority.) I’m sure that everyone at VA can’t wait to get emails about how we promote SI and are focused on the benefits of SI.
United States President Donald Trump issues executive order instructing federal government agencies to "use the terms 'Super Intelligence' and 'SI' in place of 'Artificial Intelligence' and 'AI' and will not acknowledge the usage of 'Artificial Intelligence' and 'AI' in any applicable setting."
This is coming up Thursday. Please come out to the Oak Park Public Library, and bring questions about Cook County judicial elections and our guide to all those judges on your ballot. Looking forward to it.

remembering that it's the lord's day and I don't need to argue with any of you people when I could be washing my sheets instead
Astonishing really how ADHD-denialism so closely matches early trans-denialism (say, a decade ago, before it went mask-off eliminationist), to the point that it includes the exact same personalities, again vomiting their know-nothing opinions all over the place.

if you think this is just a trend puff piece, it isn't, I have literally had seven-year-olds running around my house going THAT'S SO AI
Kids all right.
peter thiel is another one of those guys who we are supposed to think is brilliant but every time he opens his mouth my first thought is “this guy sounds like an idiot”
This is actually hell, right?
lol holy shit I wouldn't talk about literally anything else if I was the guy running against him. —"What do you think about trans kids in sp-" —"Did you hear my opponent had his patient, who was 8 months pregnant, arrested in front of her son because she didn't pay a $50 medical bill?"
Meischa was Roger Marshall's patient. This is her story.
Do note that the NYT push alert tonight is not six *new* hospitals ending gender-affirming medical care for minors. It is the cumulative six since mid-May, the most recent two of which DOJ announced — and I covered at Law Dork — last Friday.
As Trump loses ground and lashes out, some remain willing to capitulate when it comes to anti-trans hate
More alarming settlements from medical providers in states that have laws aimed at stopping anti-trans discrimination. On Friday, it was NYU Langone and UPMC.

me when i get the $36.52 from my involvement in the class action lawsuit against the company that exposed all of my private data to the entire world
remember when my main online friend group literally formed through shared fandom for the video work polygon did and now they’re…whatever the fuck this is
LMFAO -- Trump is holding an event at the White House right now but there's no audio because the press pool isn't there. The Newsmax host notes that this is an example of Trump's attacks on the press "backfiring just a little bit"
yeah yeah i heard the news but just in case i made a meme
"i have created the machine that thinks." you fucked up a perfectly good graphics card is what you did. look at it. it's got anxiety
i don't care if the danged chat bots are "thinking." that's not my problem. stop putting them in my computers
Repeating common Republican lies as if they are true is harmful. Examples: "No, I don't want Haitains eating cats and dogs." "No, I don't want Muslims to force American women to wear burqas." "No, I don't want a white genocide." "No, I don't want children to be taught to hate Christianity."
New Mary Peltola ad. “No, I don’t want kids getting surgeries to change genders, or men in girls bathrooms.” Dem, (AK-AL)
Sometimes you read an article or chapter and you are so annoyed by the author that you look them up to see exactly who this jagoff is
If you're a Dem who thinks you'll gain something by going anti-trans, look at Gallup's "most important problem" and Fox News' "most important issue" polling and see where trans issues rank. Whoever told you going anti-trans is a savvy or necessary move spends too much time on X and should be fired.
"This election is about the threat of trans kids" is the worst possible messaging for Dems yet so many candidates are leaning into it. No voter will flip R->D over it. Low-info voters read this as "you're focused on bullshit that doesn't affect me" while the base reads this as "you're an asshole."
Incredibly disappointing ad from Mary Peltola (D-AK) saying she neither supports "kids getting surgeries to change genders or men in girls bathrooms." Yes, flipping the Senate is essential and can stop bad laws and bad judges from happening, but she can do it without my support from the lower 48.
Good article. One thing that I would emphasize / add is that old school anti-psychiatry was a direct challenge to and conversation with psychiatry specifically, whereas current anti-psych instead is often just the anti-“allopathic medicine” playbook without meaningful points
Op-Ed: Why Anti-Psychiatry Now Fails and Harms "Formerly a healthy corrective, movement now distracts from real problems and actively hurts people" 👇💡
Someone made this event 10 years ago and it’s fast approaching and while I said I was going as a joke way back when, I think this is very important and I will be there with any priestly amulets that are needed to make this come true
Let’s be clear: this isn’t happening. The only importance is that it shows the president doesn’t know what he’s talking about. If they try to take MMR off market, companies will sue and likely win (it would be a very stupid move during the Trump/Kennedy measles outbreaks). Via @atrupar.com 1/3

every day of my life I think about the people using “she” to describe this computer program who still need to be convinced to use it for trans women
Tilly Norwood, a controversial AI “actor,” abruptly switched languages during an interview with Piers Morgan, though the company behind the AI creation denied she malfunctioned.
