Before I log off to touch grass: Spicy isn’t unethical. And cozy isn’t bland, less than, or anything to do with purity. It’s character driven stakes in a fantasy setting—often written by LGBTQIA+ authors exploring community or found family. Mocking these stories, many of which are queer, ain’t it.

Hot take: I’m demisexual. I love cozy. And I enjoy smut. Neither is “better”. There’s nothing wrong with cozy…but using “ick” in marketing? 🤬 Now both sides are shamming people and acting superior over fiction. Can we not demonise others for their tastes in books? There’s nothing bad about EITHER.
