If you see someone with nonce glasses remember to clearly say “Meta, stop recording” before you kick their arse. The only thing those things have disrupted is the “You wouldn’t hit someone wearing glasses would you?” industry.

A collection of asinine aphorisms in the shape of a person. Amateur musician, gamer-ish, tea-sipper, hat-wearer, library worker, neurodiversity advocate, scatterbrain, geek. Disaster bi, if you care. He/him.
We are all made of stars. You are just from shitter stars than me. Absolute dogshit astral bodies. 1/10.
I love @paulmagrs.bsky.social for a accurately describing Richard Osman's prose as "constipated"
Me: (wearing my staff lanyard and badge, a t-shirt with "Support Your Local Library" on it, and carrying an unfeasibly large stack of books) Them: "Do you work here?" #librarylife
In the early 2010s there was a strange flurry of #DoctorWho tie-in novels being written by science-fiction heavyweights like Michael Moorcock* and Stephen Baxter - sometimes with baffling (in an entertaining way) results. I wonder if we'll ever see a return to that kind of writing for the franchise.
Quake Brutalist Jam 3 - and the Monolith mod - are one of the best things produced by the classic Quake fan community, and possibly any boomer-shooter fan community, ever. The fact that the love and effort that went into it spills over into its own fan art (such as below) shows it.

Doom: The Dark Ages is better than Doom Scrolling** **Recycle your jokes, folks
Neurotyps: "We use our 2 legs to escape danger." Neurodivergs: "We have 3 legs, which make us faster than you." Nts: "You have a serious developmental abnormality called MLD (Multiple Leg Disorder) that risks decimating the existing trouser economy. But don't worry; it's nothing a surgeon can't fix"
Same with autism and other forms of neurodivergence. "Autism may represent a significant evolutionary advantage, as researchers increasingly believe that neurodivergent traits were selected to provide human societies with a 'specialist' edge". Basically, we're the X-Men and they *hate* us for it.
If this debate was had in good faith, in an appropriate way, it might be an interesting one. But look at the title and the current social context. Is this going to do anything useful at all?
Channel 4 has announced documentary “The Great ADHD Myth?” It “seeks to determine whether ADHD is a genuine neurodevelopmental disorder, or a social construct.”

I'm looking forward to playing Signalis next month. It came out in 2022 and I kind of forgot about it, but at last it's time for me to get my teeth into some half-decent 2.5D top-down pixel-art retro-futurist lesbian survival horror, am I right

YOU CAN'T CONVERT THE BIGOTS. I'm truly sorry, folks. The Enlightenment ideals of rational persuasion just aren't supported by psychological science. A person can (sometimes, rarely) be convinced. People at scale cannot. We have enemies and we have allies. Use your energy accordingly.
All the time and energy that is being expended by white people convinced that bigots and monsters can be talked out of it *should instead be used to protect people from them*. Put your effort where it can actually help. You can’t convert the bigots. Build a new system that doesn’t include them.

tl;dr: ACAB includes jokes about disability, just as much as it includes people who patrol to catch people "faking" disability while using a mobility aid or accessible parking space. ACAB includes anyone policing people's bodies. As ever, kill the cop inside your head.
Key to that: There's no wrong way to have a body. There's no *kind* of body that makes you disposable, that robs you of your human dignity, of your fundamental right to exist in society. Abled folks will hear me say that, and not really get it, when I talk about it in relation to disability.

I chose poorly when I was 20 (and it led to my first depression diagnosis, huzzah!) but I'm compensating for it.
There's a point, around the age of twenty, when you have to choose whether to be like everybody else the rest of your life, or to make a virtue of your peculiarities.
This is difficult to explain, and I'm not prone to synesthesia, but ASCII art "smells like" the glossy paper old computer game manuals were printed on
Who among us doesn't need a fire-breathing ASCII dragon helpfully telling an alarmed ASCII cow the date in Hobbiton in their Linux terminal? Might be helpful to some damn fool of a Took. A little Python program I whipped up, rewriting code I'd written in BASIC in the distant times of 1999!
The first person to say the word "shit" on television, now angling to be the first person to have the word "cunt" in his obituary.
Just loving how John Cleese, now reduced to one of his own caricatures, rages about immigrants coming to the UK and failing to accept "our" culture, from his home in ... (checks notes) ... Nevis in the Caribbean.
