I really wish someone at Paramount would hit Ste up for cover art.
If we ever did a second edition of the book, I would absolutely ask @steillustrates.bsky.social to use this for the cover!
So was a bit late for the 35th Anniversary but plenty early for the 37th Anniversary of The Best Of Both Worlds Just need to work out the title and where that will sit but in the meantime please enjoy this painting i did paint #startrekthenextgeneration #startrekfanart #fanart #startrek #theborg
With the introduction of the Aldrin class in @playstartrekonline.com, @wolf359project.bsky.social can now accomplish their dream of having a Parliament-class with (kinda) Galaxy-class nacelles 😁
Annual look through my ipad and look at paintings I need to finish #startrektng #thebestofbothworlds #fanart
Then of course there is this very, very lovely write up of @eomproject.bsky.social and @wolf359project.bsky.social that I do sometimes go back and read to feel good about myself
Writing the History of Star Trek
If you’ve read this blog before, you’ll know that one of my favorite things to talk and think about is history. Another one of my favorite topics is science fiction. And a third one, pe…

Nathan's writing - fiction, nonfiction, commentary and essays - has been a delight ever since I first got to know him. Will share some of my favourites below:
If people want to do something nice for my birthday, I would really appreciate subscribing or sharing my blog; I put a lot of time and effort into this thing, and it's gotten me some actual writing work lately, which I never expected. Thanks for being part of it. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Wolf 359 ignited my imagination like nothing else had in recent years. It led to me joining @intheraptorsclaws.bsky.social and then start my own fic @intotheabyss53.bsky.social
Three years ago today we launched We Have Engaged the Borg. Thank you all for reading and supporting us. Don't really have anything planned to celebrate but for every like ill give a bit of WHETB Trivia, some hot takes about Trek in general or if you have a specific question feel free to ask away!
Happy Beaumont Kin Day everyone! It’s the 2nd anniversary of the UK publication of Beaumont’s major work, ‘The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire’. Every year we recognise his efforts to bring hope to the galaxy & understanding of the crimes perpetrated by the Empire.
It's the first Beaumont Kin Day! A year ago today 'Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire' was published in the UK (and on the 7th in the US) and readers got the chance to discover just how important Beaumont was to the book he had 'written'. It was a secret we'd carefully guarded.
Happy Birthday! Here's a snapshot from the Wolf 359 system to celebrate :D
"We Have Engaged the Borg" - which is available for free as a downloadable PDF in a quoted post below - is easily be best Trek fanfiction I've ever read, and the best Star Trek I've ever encountered outside the movies and shows.

Guess what ‘We Have Engaged the Borg’ and ‘The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire’ have in common 😉
Tomorrow!
#TrekADay It's the episode Gene Roddenberry didn't want to do dealing with the fallout from the Borg with Picard with no action/adventure plot. One cool new shot of the Enterprise, but otherwise this is an emotional soap opera that asks though questions like "Why is everyone in France British?"
Also, as quaint as 40 ships seems considering the numbers we see in DS9, this episode does treat it like most of Starfleet got destroyed and it'll take a year (i guess replicators make for fast builds) to restore it. Something you don't really feel in the rest of season 4.
Star Trek would wind up saying a lot about 9/11, so it's kind of insane the best analogy they ever did remains the one a decade beforehand. This being The Event of the 24th century could seem odd considering how many ships go down in the average DS9 battle, but it's the psychology.
“We can draw lessons from the past, but we cannot live in it.” – Lyndon Johnson The Reform Programme stands on the brink of collapse, as the Wescott government makes every gamble it can to get the crucial votes it needs to survive. CHAPTER 18 PART I OF THE AUDIOBOOK IS OUT NOW

#TrekADay It's the official best episode of the series and contender for best ever episode of Star Trek! Starting with a terrifying visit to Kidderminster town centre.
One of the annoying and misguided things about modern fandom - say Star Trek and Star Wars - and they view the lore as something that can only encompass things they've already seen. When you show them something they haven't seen before, they don't go, "ahhh, interesting." theysay, "Canon violation!"
In case you didn’t know, @andy3e.bsky.social and I kinda wrote a book about it. No seriously, read it. Everyone else has: @wolf359project.bsky.social
"I am Locutus of Borg. Resistance is futile. Your life, as it has been is over. From this time forward, you will service us." Writer Michael Piller had no idea how he was going to wrap things up when he first wrote the most intense cliffhanger in Star Trek history.
