The U.S. Attorney believes that a "public rebuke" and an internal review are sufficient for egregious prosecutorial misconduct that put my family through hell. My seven-year-old is still having nightmares and panic attacks related to this case. Justice requires transparency and accountability.

Chicago U.S. Attorney Andrew Boutros acknowledges 'mistakes' in 'Broadview 6' case but says sanctions, special counsel aren't needed. From @schuba.bsky.social: chicago.suntimes.com/crime/2026/0...

Sheriff Dart is once again full of shit. We don't need AI in the damn jail. If he wants to know if someone's in the shower, that's what his staff is for, and that staff is already bloated as hell. We have far fewer inmates now than a decade ago, but his costs are still going up even without AI.

shawn@mulchy.bsky.social · 1h ago

commissioner jessica vásquez said the cook county board had yet to see a contract for briefcam, sheriff tom dart's proposed jail ai surveillance camera system. dart said breifcam will "save lives" and downplayed its facial recognition features while hyping up its object recognition features (?).

Why are we creating an oppressive surveillance state to let corporations that don't even pay enough in taxes to use free police help to act as their security force at our expense? Why should retail theft be our problem at all? @kwameraoul.bsky.social should answer for this. This is NOT ok.

If you want to know how Flock got so big so fast in Illinois, look no further than our sitting Attorney General (who refused to comment for this story!):

it would be awesome if @rweingarten.bsky.social would have listened to those of us a.f.t. members who actually work with a.i. when we told her this was a bad idea and not to do it but now we have to listen to her claim that taking money from bad people to teach bad lessons is a moral imperative

Hypervisible @hypervisible.blacksky.app · 8h ago

“Teaching educators about AI is a ‘moral imperative’, said Randi Weingarten, the AFT president.” “And without outside funding, it was a choice between taking big tech’s money or doing nothing, she said.”

Here is the now-deleted(!) audio of acting Attorney General Todd Blanche pledging that the Trump administration will end telemedicine prescriptions of abortion pills nationwide

Todd Blanche made more promises during a private call that a faith group inexplicably uploaded to YouTube. Expect to see this story cited in lawsuits against the FDA when it ends telemedicine of mifepristone for no reason other than pills by mail make anti-abortion groups very mad

Josh Gerstein@joshgerstein.bsky.social · 2d ago

NEW: Amid AG confirmation battle, Todd Blanche assured anti-abortion activists that he's working to make Dobbs 'permanent in every single state.' Admin will act 'soon' to limit mail-order abortion drugs. w/ @alicemiranda.bsky.social www.politico.com/news/2026/08...

Trump's line of BS today is that he's actively negotiating a deal to open the Strait of Hormuz, which is controlled by the United States

Edwin Jeovanny Lopez Cornejo didn't deserve to die in a concentration camp. No one deserves to die in a concentration camp. Every single death at ICE's hands, every day this modern day gestapo and these modern day concentration camps exist, is a crime against every single one of us.

A 39-year-old El Salvadoran man, who was being held at Delaney Hall, has died, the man's family says. He's the father of a 12-year-old US citizen daughter and has lived in the country for nearly 20 years. www.thecityreporter.nyc/2026/08/03/s...

Ashley Hinson has voted six times to continue a Middle East war. Now gas prices are rising here in Iowa more than almost anywhere else in the country. Iowans are hurting, and Ashley Hinson is only making it worse. It’s past time to end this war, bring down costs, and put Iowans first.

No money for healthcare or universal basic income but hey trillion dollars wars, billions for ICE, billions upon billions of welfare for corporations and millions for putting fake gold on shit, hundreds of millions for a ballroom and bunker, 2 billion for a mob of traitors.

My books will be on my shelves where they belong. A few friends used to laugh at me for keeping what they called obsolete things like vinyl records and old books. They all agree it was a good idea now.

Please stop saying “lockdowns.” There were never true lockdowns in the US, and it fuels far right narratives to repeat this inaccurate statement. You can say closures, you can say restrictions, or better, you can say public health measures which saved many lives.

Dr. Lucky Tran@luckytran.com · 6d ago

People still complain about “lockdowns” but we had none in the US. We had stay-at-home orders, where although businesses were closed, you could still go outside whenever you wanted. Other countries had far stricter rules, and yet have been much more accepting of them as they saved many more lives.

Gillibrand & the others mentioned here as part of this Bible study are part & parcel of why the Dems can't fight the Nazis. They ARE Nazis. The creep of Dems rightward over the decades hasn't been a mistake. It's been a careful plan. We need to excise them all & create a true working class party.
