I see a lot of people complaining about the undoubtedly stressful conditions at present on London's roads. But I see few people complaining about motor vehicles. Yet in the last 24 hours three vulnerable road users have died after being hit by people driving motor vehicles.

Wandsworth Conservatives cut £20m from the Council's decarbonisation efforts & describe Drainage & greening initiatives targeted on low-income areas that lack green spaces, as being "inflicted" on people, leaving these areas in danger to winter flooding and Summer scorching.

World Car-Free Day is celebrated every year on 22nd September. For me, cycling is more than just a way to get around it gives me the freedom to explore, discover new places. So, why not leave the car behind, get on your bike, and discover where the road takes you? Every ride makes a difference!

Worrying scenes in the Channel today, for all interested in asylum policy and maritime tactics. A small boat from Normandy spent more than 30 hours at sea. Those on board now on their 2nd rescue vessel as Border Force forced to play cat and mouse with far-right activists who have their own boat.

🧵 Why is national cycle route #NCN4 on a shared-use pavement along Chelsea Embankment in #RBKC? Well, #RBKC chose the shared-use pavement in Dec'1999 to prevent the nascent Greater London Authority GLA building a proper cycle lane on the forthcoming red-route. 1/n

A list of hilariously bad ideas from the new admin at Wandsworth Council. Destined to end in tragedy (pedestrians and cyclists endangered), farce (money down the drain, gridlock continues), and dismay (as people realise just how much worse street conditions will get if motoring is a encouraged).

Good grief. Wandsworth Council’s plans to “tackle the gridlock” & “get Puntey’s roads mvping again” all involve stealing space & time from pedestrians in a self-defeating effort to increase traffic throughput 🤦‍♂️ Really bleak, horribly misguided stuff

According to @fleuranderson.bsky.social Putney is awash with congestion because Hammersmith Bridge closed to cars. Fleur refuses to acknowledge motor traffic is down across entire area incl Putney & all nearby bridges. I wonder what she & other Labour politicians make of stuff like this...

With #Wandsworth Council's announcement that it's ripping out ped & cycle infra on Putney High Street to make more room for drivers, a thought about the private Putney High School (c300 juniors, c600 seniors) where half kids get driven, blue dots = staff, green = juniors, purple = seniors

Green Party London Assembly Member Caroline Russell told the report launch that City Hall and TfL could still be doing more to tackle the "elephant in the room" - traffic congestion. "The urgency to reduce the number of cars in London couldn't be clearer". www.mylondon.news/news/transpo...

TfL didn't build single new protected cycle track on road network last year

The Transport for London Road Network constitutes around five per cent of Lomdon's roads
