She/her, as it turns out. 32 last time I bothered to update this. Plays a lot of games, listens to a lot of podcasts, notoriously does not watch a lot of films. 🏳️‍⚧️

In other Michigan news, the state looks set to elect it's first transgender lawmaker. Joanna Whaley won her Democratic primary and will compete in November for a state house seat, beating a primary opponent who tried and failed to disqualify her for not running under her deadname

There's something diminishing about living in a world where men's abuse is so ubiquitous and unimpeded, and still women are chided for not thinking enough of men's woes, men's harms, men's feelings. We're constantly asked why we don't tolerate our endless violation with more dignity.

It's demoralizing living in a nonstop Abuse-a-thon: we've had to learn the sordid details of so many men's abhorrent behavior; I mean this summer has been Graham Platner, Andrew Tate, Jared Leto, Max Miller, plus the horrific L.A. rape-murder of the child by the rapper, to name a few lowlights.

"The hypothetical trans girl [...] is the perfect tool for the conservative movement. She can't fight back, can't disprove anyone's assumptions, and can't garner sympathy when she's the target of hate. The perfect trans girl is the one who only exists in the imagination of the loudest cis people."

If your winning issue is trans women in sports, and you're struggling to uncover trans women in any league that anybody has ever heard of, then how do you keep trans athletes at the top of people's minds? Answer: You invent them. defector.com/the-right-ha...

can you guys retire "the right wing / chuds don't know what to do with trans men and forget they exist and will be So Confused by them!!!!" already. they are fully aware trans men exist and the thing they do to trans men is violently abuse and murder them

I don't want to complain about it as frequently as I do, I'm far happier talking about what I love and have enthusiasm, but it is endlessly frustrating. It's a daily workload to sort through my various inboxes, sort through all the games I'm being offered, filter out the obvious AI slop first...

It's relatively easy because I have a browser extension that shows a pop-up whenever I open the Steam page of a game that has an AI disclosure, so I can decline those instantly, but my god is it a tedious daily chore. But that's just the ones who are honest enough to disclose their AI usage.

Then I have to scrutinize what's left, because a lot of these AI slop jockeys are extremely dishonest, oftentimes it's easy to spot, though not always, so I do have to be careful. Once I have all the slopware filtered out, I can evaluate the genuine games offered to me. It's so much extra work.

What I've not told you before is how these slopware developers often refuse to take no for an answer. I get an email with an offer of a paid promotion for some slop game with live AI integration and I decline, but a day or two later I get the same email with the same offer I just declined.

No doesn't mean no to these assholes, and why would it? They're used to fawning AI chatbots they can repeat themselves enough times to to get the desired outcome, so no is just an invitation to try harder. No amount of clarity on my part that "I DO NOT WANT AI GENERATED SLOP" matters to them.

There's amazing applications for AI in the realm of spam, in the frontier of scams and grifts, an invaluable tool of the timewaster. Me however? I'm the one getting my time wasted, and I'll always be endlessly frustrated by that. It's added so much tedious, timewasting bullshit to my day to day.

yup. unrestricted internet access is what allowed me to learn who i am, while being stuck in an environment that was extremely hostile to the idea. its also what made me who i am, in a way, and i don’t have a single regret about it either. it’s what saved me from becoming a bigoted idiot, really.

this isn't very popular to say, but for me personally, it was good that i had unrestricted internet access when i was a minor. i was aware of what i was doing and enjoyed it. i don't look back on it and go "well that was a mistake", i look back on it and wish i could do it for the first time again

To explain for foreigners: our energy regulator rubber-stamps price rises; the water regulator tuts while rivers fill up with human shit; the press regulator wags an occasional finger, and the national equality body enforces press campaigns against groups of people they hate and wish to damage.

Britain, where the national equality body is a boobyhatch jam-packed with wingnut cranks who fervently believe their job is creating weapons for police to hammer minorities that the press hates and wants to harm.

Organisations have long ignored the law on self-identity. The EHRC rules which take effect today will not end that but are nevertheless a victory
