Help me out y’all- what’s that ridiculously overcomplicated chart on writing story that’s not the hero’s journey but like… every story structure combined? 🤔

“Officers subsequently checked the various locations where the Flock cameras were placed and found that the poles were cut down near the base. Officers located the poles nearby in the weeds, but the cameras had been removed.”
Winona police want to know who stole their Flock surveillance cameras

They stole ALL the Flock cameras in Winona.
#bugsky (is that a thing?) I have an indoor potted plant that occasionally shows evidence of being eaten (leaves chomped) and recently a small stem cut clean off. Weeks pass between these incidents. I have no pets. No other plants have this problem. What's eating my plant?
To the surprise of no one, the hwa included some very out of touch, incredibly ignorant, pro-ai shit in their newsletter. Fuck ai. Fuck the hwa. Fuck em all.
I heard that the HWA, that rapscallion of an organization, is using racist parallels to shill AI slop to writers while calling us “cowards” in their latest newsletter because we…*checks notes* don’t want to use AI. Oh HWA, you forget - cowards bend the knee - and I only see you on the floor.

Bay Area friends: would you consider opening your home to these two cuddly cats? A friend found them behind a gas station. Their sibling, a black cat, got adopted, but it appears no one likes orange cats. They are being kept in a bathroom for the time being and need a home.
A friend of mine found these three kittens behind a Bay Area gas station. They are tame, vaccinated, and incredibly affectionate. Unfortunately, she's unable to keep them and I'm trying to find them a home. They are at risk of going to a shelter. Bay Area people, are you open to adopting?
Damn, now THAT is a cover. I really, really love art of big scenes full of little details with all kinds of stories going on. That was always the coolest kind of art in children’s books, and it’s an excellent mode for TTRPG art, too. Especially when you’re trying to show off a setting.
Glad to finally be able to post some TTRPG work from last year in collaboration with @geckopirate.bsky.social . Had a wonderful time making this cover and I'm excited to share all the other things I made for this soon. Link to it if you are interested 👇 geckopirate.itch.io/vralkast

As a latina trans woman who has witnessed my dad being taken away by ICE in the dark of early fall morning during the Obama era in 2013- I would really fucking appreciate it if cis people didn't weaponize my people's pain to attack trans people as well, WHO ARE ALSO MY PEOPLE. Fucking hell.
Deeply disappointed at the comments on my Ken Jennings video. People would rather have empathy for a cis person than the trans person mocked. Yeah it’s the trans persons fault for lightly pointing out to a cis person the New York Times is bad actually to trans person. She’s making it about herself.
I just stumbled on the worst mix-ins for Greek yogurt. Took the Trader Joe’s vanilla Greek yogurt (it’s fiiine), added some chocolate peanut butter granola and a little honey. It tastes surprisingly like vomit. Window into my character: I’m eating it anyway.

Riddley Walker by Russell Hoban. I read it as slowly as possible over the course of three years to make the experience go on longer. For the same reason, I’m still making my way through Moby Dick.
this is about gene wolfe and I am hijacking it to suggest sharing your own favourite texts that are so thick, so viscous
A magazine specifically for Uncle Frank and Julia Cotton enthusiasts called Flayboy. The term is "skin mags" for a reason!
On my walk yesterday, I saw a parasitoid wasp doing its thing on a wolf spider. Never seen that in person before! Still feeling extra happy about it.
PSA: It's even worse. Craig not only operated a revenge porn website, but he also was engaging in racketeering by secretly running several shell companies that offered a paid service that would remove your revenge porn *from the revenge porn distro sites he owned*.
Does everyone here know that @craigbrittain.com, who is currently masquerading as an anti-MAGA warrior, was fined in 2016 for operating a revenge porn website? A *lot* of y’all follow him. ⚠️ Marked as unsafe. ⚠️ www.ftc.gov/news-events/...

When someone is described as "often controversial, never boring" in 2026 it just means: full nazi but also part of the establishment.
I mean, does this remind you of anyone currently in the news
One of the things that made re-reading Raymond's memoir really interesting is that he's a rare beast, a member of the British upper classes who was antifascist to the bone, and who understood fascism as the cruelty of bores towards people they couldn't impress any other way.
My Patreon post about Derek Raymond's remarkable memoir The Hidden Files is up for paid subscribers. The book takes you from wartime London to Eton's 'hotbed of buggery' to gangland Soho en route to a metaphysical enquiry into evil, crime & art. It's a good one. www.patreon.com/weirdandconf...

I'm running this course for the third time starting next month in Dublin. It's not really a writing course, it's more about looking into your idea for a story & interrogating it so that by the time you start to write, you know what you're doing. irishwriterscentre.ie/courses/grow...

The diarrhea lettuce company, Taylor Farms, uses slave labor contracted from the Arizona Dept. of Corrections. The backbreaking labor is often performed by imprisoned Mexican nationals who would be otherwise ineligble to work in the US. They are paid $1.50 an hour.
The Diarrhea Lettuce Company Has Been Linked to Forced Labor
The lettuce-producing Taylor Farms was linked to the widespread use of prison labor before its involvement in a cyclospora outbreak.
