If you want to be a better engineer, you need to take estrogen. Every 10x dev I know is on E. The mass Rust migration? E. Your favorite open source maintainer? On E. The girl using NixOS on a ThinkPad from 2012 who rewrote your entire infra in a weekend? On E. Stay competitive or get left behind.
It’s been 2 weeks since switching to NixOS.. the excitement has balanced out and I’m back to my usual focus on learning Rust and how to build things with it. I will probably never distrohop for the rest of my life lol. Knowing I now have a system that will theoretically never break is too good :3
First week of NixOS and the following happened for me. - Had more fun learning about and tinkering with Linux than I had in years. - Got both my desktop and laptop setup exactly the same through a central configuration.. didn’t think this was possible without A LOT of effort to set and maintain

Had another ADHD moment and switched from learning #PHP to #Rust, it's been 1 month spending roughly 10 hours a week so far. Will say it's been the most fun I've had learning a programming language despite the increase in upfront difficulty
