Having a toddler is crazy because you can do something one (1) time with them and they will forever look at you like it’s some sort of years long tradition.

My immediate thought with this question is always people would be more open to practicing the ideals of Humanae Vitae it if it were presented with honesty about the effort it involves and as an ascetic practice rather than a hack for making your sex sexier or an identity politics

Another irritating one was “Oh, you don’t even KNOW what’s it’s like to be tired until you’ve had a kid.” One, because it’s really weirdly dismissive for no reason. Two, as somebody that has children now, I can say that college was much more tiring than any stage of parenthood.

If you tell a new parent "just wait until you hit ___ stage" in a negative way you are weak and your bloodline should have ended in your hand
