I got a very sweet comment on one of my old Transformers reviews. It said that the commenter had been watching my reviews since they were little (which made me feel a bit old, but I started these in 2008 so that math checks out) and that I taught them it was okay to criticize something you love.

A weird thing that really happened around the year 2000 was that mainstream news ran and pushed a story for MONTHS that there was a secret new invention that was going to be revolutionary and then it turned out it was the Segway

Trelane's jacket from Star Trek's "The Squire of Gothos", turning up on Nez in The Monkees - "The Prince and the Paupers". Rented from The Western Costume Company, this is by no means the only time it turns up on TV and film, but it's the one that startles me most.

Screengrab from The Monkees - The Prince and the Paupers, in which Mike Nesmith is wearing a very familiar jacket.William Campbell as Squire Trelane in Star Trek's The Squire of Gothos. Same jacket as the one Mike Nesmith's wearing.

Fake Star Trek TOS episode title: “Kirk Tells ChatGPT To Kill Itself And It Does”

Seriously though, Peter Cullen's passing really put a damper on my plans to go to one of those 40th Anniversary screenings of Transformers: The Movie and laugh like DeNiro in Cape Fear when Optimus Prime dies.

absolutely wheezing at an Instagram clip of comic Stevie Martin (who I love from being a maniac on Taskmaster) claiming that Shakespeare only had three plays: 1. “I’m Not a Good Monarch” 2. “I’ll Pretend To Be You, You Hide Behind That Plant, and We’ll Both Marry Her” 3. “The Lion King”
