Every object oriented language introduction starts with showing the clean hierarchy of dog and cat inheriting from animal, while every real codebase is like
i think this is a contender for the stupidest line of code i've ever written

the arguments that AI inference is forever too expensive to be profitable make no sense once you understand that 1) you can already run useful models on not particularly expensive home equipment and 2) unit costs are going to be cheaper at scale
The recent popularity of the move to blame AI firms for ineffective *marketing* is mostly: a) a lot of people now realize they were wrong to spend 3 yrs insisting the tech was useless + b) “I was wrong” is a sentence most humans can’t write. = c) “they explained it badly.”
If you act like kiwifarms, you are wrong and the world would be improved by you not being in it.
if you look at that behavior, even if you didn’t partake yourself, and go “yea that is warranted”, “what’s wrong with that”, or whatever else, you’re just as complicit as the folks doing the bullying.
if youre in the group of people where folks are saying things like “keep bullying them it’s working”, “yea run them the fuck out of here no one wants them”, “even your cat thinks you’re a pathetic human”, or similar, it doesn’t matter how right you are about the thing you’re talking about.
10,000 starship launches annually. By 2030. In 3 years there is going to be a market for this? There will be capability? Who is going on these launches? Where are they going? WHY are they going? At what price? Who's paying? Answer: Musk has no idea. He's just saying shit. There is no consequence.
there is so much harm caused by AI right now that is going to proliferate exactly because a large portion of the left in politics cannot actually interact with AI-related topics without devolving into madness. its a real problem!!
I don't think we should accept fundamentally right-wing framings about how people who work in offices don't have real jobs and are unmanly.
the fact that we end up in a war between online leftists and spreadsheet people mostly indicates that online leftists don't have jobs
what an awful take you left here. im sure this is going to really solve things.
"spreadsheet people" is a real "other than that, mrs lincoln" from me
People can’t just say this for literally years now and have the products it creates only positively affect spreadsheet people. Most people have profoundly negative experiences with this product because its utility remains pretty niche but targeted to the capital class.
i’m sorry but it’s just so funny for steven cheung, who looks like kirby ate mao zedong, to be calling anybody a cuck
White House communications director responds to Jon Ossoff saying Trump doesn’t want to do the job but wants to “travel with Natalie”
Bet you didn't imagine the Well Actually Humorless Killjoy would be one of the first Bluesky jobs lost to A.I.
data centers *are* the internet you dinguses
"It's not just our environment that data centers threaten to pollute... they pollute the internet, too."
“I was asked not to mention the Times at all. I’m choosing not to honor that norm, b/c silence abt how accountability journalism gets suppressed is itself a form of suppression.” Read the back story of how @nytimes.com and @thebulwark.com killed @adambonica.bsky.social’s piece. What a mf badass.

it should have been a big story that Marc Elias more or less squeezed all of Media Matters' money out of them and effectively bankrupted them when Elon sued, but it wasn't
idk I feel like it should be a bigger story that Marc Elias is SLAPPing the New York Fucking Times to help his clients scam the elderly with donation spam
I think we need to kill the sentiment that people lose their right to personhood and you know, due process once they do something bad enough
I did this back on Xitter back in COVID days and saved screenshots when I left. It's got worse since.
Would any publisher accept a novel from even the most famous author that reads like like the story of Trump since 2015?

A few moments from More Perfect Union's most recent data center video where they defend pecan farming in deserts, each of which turned me into the Joker
i love bluesky because you can be arguing with someone named like “Big Titty Sleestak Girlfriend” and then you look up their domain name and it turns out they have 12 patents from intel
There's a problem here- the inflection point of the code quality sky rocketing was last November, so anything before then just is too dated to be meaningful. Now the problem is a very different one- complacency from high quality plus a volume far too great to meaningfully review by hand.
As many skilled programmers can attest, chatbots can produce very useful output - but as even the most ardent AI-assisted coder will admit, chatbot-written code is also full of baffling, obvious errors (and subtle, hard-to-spot ones): pluralistic.net/2025/08/04/b... 7/
This is also AI derangement. If we wish to appeal to authority, I'm going to take a prize-winning mathematician's opinion about mathematics over a blatant non-sequitur at best that tries to restore a narrative by appealing to the author's own ignorance as proof.
In other words, I lack the discernment to evaluate the output of the chatbot that Tao exchanged theories with. Show me an equally opaque transcript of a "conversation" between a chatbot and a crank with AI psychosis whose math made no sense whatsoever. 5/
being a billionaire and on the internet all day is crazy to me. if i had even five million dollars, you would not find me online whatsoever.
Me: (being murdered by the AI paperclip maximizer) Bluesky: Actually it can't 'murder' you. Murder implies intent.
