UK restrictions are again in place for any meat and dairy from EU as “to avoid foot and mouth”. How is it that the EU works just *fine* re borders, markets but the UK can’t figure out how to operate *post Brexit* with total control over whatever it wants. I just wanted to gift friends some cheese!

My dear friend’s niece, who in October developed sepsis when a Georgia hospital refused her a D&C after a miscarriage, will be taken off life support tomorrow. I don’t know the names of the countless others who have suffered and will suffered because of anti-abortion laws. But her name was Haley.

Instead of slashing welfare and disability benefits — forcing more disabled people and children into poverty — the government could introduce a 2% tax on assets over £10 million. It would raise £24 billion — five times the savings from these cuts. This is austerity 2.0
