Something you notice when you read a lot of stories about traffic violence is how often a witness will talk about the fact that a particular road has seen a lot of crashes or speeding. We know some streets are particularly dangerous and yet no action is taken. That's why these are not accidents.

A motorist in Amsterdam was pulled over for being a public noise nuisance with his car. Noise measurement tests were done and the car was found to be in violation. The driver had to continue his journey on foot and the car is not allowed on public infrastructure until the exhaust is properly muffled

This is a fact I bring up often when people wield ableism in bad faith to argue against active transportation infrastructure. Creating safe and efficient mobility options for disabled nondrivers does not take away options from disabled folks who do need to drive.

The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce is giving a thumbs up to Winnipeg police’s recent 10-day crackdown on open drug use and drug trafficking downtown, and urges governments to follow up the effort with a public safety strategy.

I think one of the nicer things about riding a cargo bike is that basically every single day somebody points at it from the sidewalk and says things like “whoa” and “that’s the coolest bike I’ve ever seen” and I’m on a bike so I can just stop and chat for a bit about it.
