Some of this falls back on Premier Ford's reckless removal of Automated Speed Enforcement cameras. It gave institutional approval to the idea that it's a God-given right to reach your destination as fast as humanly possible, regardless of the risk to others. 4/

And if Mark had made infrastructure investment a priority, we might be able to withstand those storms better. Sure, some of this is legacy, but Marks push for 2.5% taxes is the same as predecessors like Watson and crew who undermined our future. Can we afford more of this?

Isabella brings up a great point that always blows the minds of a few students in my CLC political economy class - full employment undermines corporate power, the higher unemployment is, the more power corporations have over workers. Unemployment policy is inherently political.

A united Canada must mean more than just rejecting separation. It must mean actually standing up for all of us — building a movement across our differences to make this a country where everyone can live a life of dignity, equality and belonging.

How about fixing and reinvesting in the +20 community centres, pools, libraries slated to close bc Mark and cronies are all in for Lansdowne and 2% taxes instead of funding we actually need.

But how will you pay for it if you’re keeping status quo and going to hold taxes at unsustainable levels? We have the last 4 years of decrepitude, building on decades of austerity from your predecessor to show for it. Look around you #OttCity: roads, sidewalks, social infra, it’s all worse 1/

My $10 billion infrastructure plan is ambitious. It’s detailed. It’s fair, responsible, and smart. And most importantly, it eliminates our infrastructure gap. See my full plan: marksutcliffe.ca/priorities/i...

In the last 4 years: are your pool waiting times better? Is your library open longer hours? Is your commute better? Transit? How’s that working? These have all gotten worse in the last 4y; if you want that to stay the same, re-elect Mark.

The response to the July 1 flood, part two. I asked a bunch of questions, got a few answers, and I am sharing with you what I know. Eagerly seeking feedback from people who know more or better than I do. We’re all learning out loud together. randomactsofurbanism.substack.com/p/the-flood-...
