Media elite pretending no bias by obviously biased editors, perverted old men owners, mediocre nepo baby billionaires All angry at uppity minorities not knowing their place, working class getting paid a little bit more, climate change activism, LGBTQ+, woke MeToo making them slightly uncomfortable
“Arguments made against DEI and quote unquote woke practices by left-wing authors can be mobilized and broadcasted by actors that are against left-wing interests” is… uh… clearly an actual argument? And a defensible position?
I feel like social media constantly reminds us why courts and rule of law and their ability to proportionately sanction were such massive improvements for everyone. the mob can only venerate or destroy.
I'm perplexed. This year, we've watched multiple Black authors lose book deals, face scrutiny, and endure reputational damage because of AI accusations. And now this tragedy. The question is, are we going to sit back and allow scientific racism to be resurrected and returned to the mainstream?
My kids have measles, I can’t afford gas, I can’t breathe the air, and I have explosive diarrhea. But at least now I can use Grok to see my coworkers naked
If you’re grabbed by someone wearing “shock gloves”…your body may convulse involuntarily. It could look like you’re resisting arrest when in reality, you’re in medical distress. The appearance of resistance will embolden ICE to use lethal force. These gloves will kill people.
Yep Some stuff I say is open to being taken out of context, but at least I punch up & I'll repeat any online statement to anyone's face Cowardly bullies get no respect from me Which is why I despise white supremacists, patriarchists, genocidaires, & authoritarians
Let me make something clear. I do not respect anyone who piles on someone, kicks them when they’re down, or otherwise. And if you type something out to me, and it’s not something you would say to my face, I think you’re a coward and a fraud.

Zero surprise that these are explicitly designed to cause pain without leaving a mark, not to incapacitate. Yes, we're spending $20M to buy ICE agents torture devices.
The Painful Truth of Exactly How ICE’s New Shock Gloves Actually Work
ICE is spending millions on shock gloves designed to overpower subjects through intense, localized pain.

Let's give the unhinged, untrained, unaccountable bullies electroshock gloves. While we're at it, do a no-bid contract for this bullshit.
These gloves don't cause neuromuscular incapacitation the way that a taser does. In fact, they only work when applied directly to bare skin. These aren't made for apprehending anyone. These have one and only one use: causing extreme pain to already-restrained captives. In plain language: torture.

The utter moral cowardice of people not calling white supremacists what they are will never not be a stain on their characters Which is the problem with most Dem leadership, & why people of conscience are disgusted by "centrist" language
So much discourse is trying to parse some hidden (and more rational) meaning when these are people who very openly say what they mean. In part because it feels unsophisticated for professional take-havers to just say, for example, "Elon Musk is a white supremacist." But it is actually that simple.
Elon gave a Nazi salute at Trump’s inauguration. Even if you do an exhaustive analysis and find that it was an extemporaneous gesture that wasn’t intentionally a Nazi salute, it’s *still* truer to just say that it was a Nazi salute, on account of all the explicitly Nazi stuff he has done/wants to do

Maybe when we arrest Elon Musk and his Hitler Youth brigade we’ll find that this data is still on their servers because they hoovered up everything they could get their hands on.
The Trump administration just made it official: it's demolishing the US's shell company registry, and destroying all of the data it already collected. A disaster for US anti-corruption efforts.
sometimes you listen to someone speak and you just know they have a well thumbed copy of Mein Kampf, a pair of frequently used calipers, collect Nazi memorabilia for the "history," and are alarmingly familiar with Francis Galton
In the wake of Arday's death, Nathan Cofnas (who led the X mob against him) states his motivation. Beyond whistleblowing, he states that after a 'revolution' removes professors like Arday, it will open opportunities for him to become 'head of the department of eugenics and race science at Harvard'.

We want the results in November to fucking *terrify* Republicans. We don’t get there by talking shit about each other, we get there by putting our heads down and doing what each and every one of us knows is the right thing to do even if some of us want to pretend otherwise.
Rep. Levin has to be circumspect in public statements and implies that the administration reduced prosecution of sex trafficking because they focused on immigration instead. I'm just some guy so I can draw the pretty obvious connection that they did this because the President is a sex trafficker

Why did this happen? Agents were pulled into immigration enforcement, experienced trafficking prosecutors left in unusual numbers, and grants that help keep victims safe and stable enough to testify were delayed or frozen.

Not to be some wild-eyed innocent, but I think it should be slightly bigger news that The Lancet have crunched the numbers and found that Musk's USAID cuts will kill 14 million people. And that's just by 2030. That's 9,600 people a day, every day, until the next world cup rolls around.

The Times wrote literally dozens of articles on Jason Arday, including one only a few hours ago saying he "may want to get himself a nice pair of orange trousers" that has since been deleted. The story was as much about academic accountability as GamerGate was about ethics in games journalism.
