every single time I talk to someone from a deep red state they say this so maybe we need to start viewing those states as under occupation and not as strongholds

That the voters exist isn’t the shocking part, it’s that they’re breaking through generations of reinforced suppression.

I am so fucking tired of "seeking justice" being framed as "getting even." Arresting and/or impeaching people who are legitimately guilty of actual crimes is not revenge. It is justice. Innocent people should be released from detention and guilty people should be in prison. Again, that is JUSTICE.
