they/them, 30s fat richie tozier fanfic author & general nuisance still in my steddie era 🩷💜💙

there are a lot of things to criticize about trad publishing, but my low-stakes frustration is having to wait a full year for a paperback I just prefer them. I would actually pay the same amount of money for a new release in paperback if I could preorder it right away

I finally finished it. I was folding stars for this for six months and stringing them for ten hours. There are almost a thousand stars. I am so proud of it and also my hands are now ground beef.

A trans pride flag (five stripes of pastel pink and blue) made of nearly 1000 individual origami puffy stars. Every fourth star has a floral print. At the end of each individual string of stars (there are 25, forming five stripes) hangs a plastic pearl bead and an empty vial of testosterone. Ruby Bridges was 6-years-old when she stepped into the history books. Bravely accompanied by her mother, she was the first Black child to desegregate an all-white school in the South. It was not long ago… Today is her birthday. She is still with us. She is 72. Happy birthday, Ruby Bridges 💜

let the record show that every (white) woman offering anecdotal evidence in reply to this (including OP) is sharing a perspective that is straight-up irrelevant “I can vouch for feeling dismissed by my child’s doctor” isn’t the point you think it is when YOU YOURSELF DID NOT GO MAHA AS A RESULT
