It's a common scam. A group of people buy up all the stock for a commonly-searched item on ebay, ghostwrite a bunch of articles about a speculative boom, then pay their buddies to encase and 'rate' a few rare examples for the articles, then trickle out the stock for 3x the price a few months later.

This is a TV segment covering the announcement event for Yakouchuu in 1995, which was the first non-Chunsoft sound novel released on the SFC. The episode even showcases a bunch of other upcoming sound novels releasing that year. The genre was really growing rapidly after the success of Kamaitachi.

This buyout basically converts EA from a games publisher into a financial vehicle that holds debt and accepts recurring payment for its existing products. With mass layoffs and current technology investment, there's basically 0 hope of it outgrowing its debt, it's entering it's twilight years.

People need to treat advertising like secondhand smoke. Every time you allow yourself to look at an ad it's like willingly walking through a smoke cloud. Sure it might be a minor inconvenience right now, but if you are constantly around them, over time it is going to fuck up your brain permanently.

the "stranger" / "sexual predator" figure more broadly exists to fuel conservative panic towards "empowering parents" when the overwhelming majority of reported sexual abuse of children is enacted by the parents themselves, followed by other family members (which is a severe underestimate, itself)

This rhetoric is ideal for listeners who believe trans women are an issue that they're supposed to care about, but don't actually have any real-world experience with them. The hypothetical trans girl who's supposedly causing all this trouble in the WNBA is the perfect tool for the conservative movement. She can't fight back, she can't disprove anyone's assumptions, and she can't garner sympathy when she's the target of hate. The perfect trans girl is the one who only exists in the imagination of the loudest cis people. Her monstrousness, the need to "protect young girls in a locker room" from her, gives them permission to enact policies that in reality only harm the anonymous girls, cis and trans, who want to play sports without the invasive scrutiny of gender-obsessed adults.
