2026, the year in which AI cannot distinguish between: • real FAKE news • fake REAL news • real REAL news and • REAL news written to satisfy the largest donors during pledge drives Humans can’t distinguish them either, so it’s unlikely AI will ever be able to at a statistically significant level.
It literally is ranking our local fake news outlets and we at the top 💅. TAKE THAT KOMO REMEMBER WE OWN YOU
Republicans are trying to make the news cycle about anything other than Donald Trump and his incredibly unpopular domestic and foreign policy agenda. That’s why they set up this Fauci hearing. And everyone is taking the bait
The proliferation of chatbots is somehow worsening the experience of searching for an apartment. I really thought it couldn't get worse.
We actually had the 16th highest mortality rate in the world and it largely resulted from the ignorant asshats who were *resisting* the common sense protection measures Fauci was promoting like masking and distancing. What a colossal asshole.
RFK Jr: "Because of Dr Fauci's leadership and other reasons, we had the highest mortality rate from covid of any country in the world" #OtherReasons 🙃
How do you know if the fruits and vegetables you buy at the grocery store come from farms where workers were harmed? Read this thread by our reporter @maxblau.bsky.social 🧵
I’ve reported at length about abuses of foreign farmworkers who come to the U.S. on H-2A visas: stolen wages, guns pointed in their faces. One woman I met was kidnapped, raped and nearly killed. I wanted to know: How do I tell if the produce I buy is part of the problem? 👇

DHS is using facial recognition technology, body cameras, license plates, mobile devices, and other surveillance tools to identify, track, and punish people who legally observe immigration enforcement in public. This is a clear violation of the Privacy Act. We’ll see them in court.
This is the dumbest shit I've seen in a while, and shit's pretty dumb these days.
NEW from me: Transportation officials have removed a growing list of safety measures that reference bikes from federal websites. The push began after DOT Secretary Duffy’s social media post vowing to end funding for “DEI bike lanes” earlier this month. www.npr.org/2026/07/23/n...

Fireworks aren't allowed in some areas of the Santa Cruz mountains and I really wish that was the case more widely. Just not worth the risk.
I really want to thank my city for cancelling its fireworks display due to fire danger. A huge portion of our state is on fire right now and we don't need more.
BP not only funded the research behind the influential “Wedges” climate science paper, but company execs even tried to revise versions of it. “Chaps, I have had a go at rewriting the paper,” a BP climate adviser wrote the researchers at one point.
How BP Execs Influenced a Climate Study That Shaped a Generation of Global Policy

The heatwave in western Europe is the most severe and widespread ever, with almost half of Europe’s largest cities experiencing their worst ever heat stress, a combination of high temperatures and humidity. Unless we stop burning fossil fuels, future heat conditions will become even more extreme.
