Imagine if a superpower regularly threatened to annex your country. Now imagine that your largest newspaper chain was owned by a hedge-fund that was closely aligned with the party running that superpower. That would be crazy, right?

NEW from me: I took a deep dive for @ricochetmedia.bsky.social into the American hedge fund-owned Canadian newspaper chain that’s pushing anti-trans, pro-genocide and climate science denial narratives down our throats. ricochet.media/media/dumpst...

Periodic reminder that approximately 2/3 of the equity in Postmedia is owned by the American hedge fund Chatham Asset Management.

It may not be surprising, but it's nevertheless sad to see a Canadian newspaper trumpet Washington's call to demolish the #ICC, and siding with impunity for Putin, Netanyahu, and the Taliban. This is now part of the right's firmament, along with anti-trans politics and Residential School denialism.

Everyone keeps trying to appease the nazis by being more like the nazis and all that happens is you get more nazis if only there were some sort of historical precedent for understanding this process

It's absolutely insane we've somehow let the Covid recriminations debate become like "why didn't we reopen in person schools before there was a vaccine" and not "why did none of the trump guys go to jail for stealing PPE from New York hospitals in March 2020"

Quick history lesson from an old Amazon, PayPal, all that wasn't some genius who came up with some unique thing. There was a rush to take as many already existing things and put them online and the ones that succeeded were people who were born wealthy.

I think Canada’s legal community does not adequately grasp the extent to which the legal system is being misused by performative dorks on the Internet

Adam Zivo & @AdamZivo • 6h I have contacted @guyfelicella's lawyer and asked him to explain his client's most recent post. (see attached email) I look forward to providing more updates as this story develops. Stay tuned, friends! @guytelicella Hope you didn't pay your lawyer a lot for that "response," because he or she hasn't sent me anything. 10:56 PM - JI 31, 2026 - 1,937 Views Relevant - Post your reply Paula Bearta @PaulBearta - 20h

Anyway, everything that people rightly lay at the feet of lockdowns for COVID mitigation is not actually a problem inherent to lockdowns themselves, but caused by the declining level of support the government provided for us as they continued because they were ideologically opposed to them.

It's weird, when you look back on the coverage of Jackie Robinson integrating Major League Baseball, there weren't a lot of these sympathetic pieces about the fans practicing their rights of freedom of speech by screaming the N-word at him. Progress!

Speaking for the first time since ralliers began assembling in support of her stance against transgender participation in women’s sports, Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham said this was an opportunity for the WNBA to uphold its values of diversity and inclusion. nyti.ms/4fHr4Qn
