Some wacky ones in here, but as far as “my vibe”? “Anti-sexist”, “bummed”, “punk rock” (1970 seems so early!), “spork”, “T cell”. I was going to pick “open dating”, but it didn’t mean what I thought.

I would like one Wes Anderson kaiju movie, please.
@meakoopa.bsky.social I hope this on your research list
Well, there's this one, a film I watched for the first time recently after hearing awful things about it for years, and...it was okay! Probably the least of Brooks' films, but still has good stuff in there! I can think of no other movie I love that other people hate.

The Luddites loved technology. They owned looms at home and would ‘mod’ them to count threads. Their battle was against worker exploitation. The degradation of their rights, safety and wages. They were against a handful of rich businessmen owning the means of production. Sound familiar?

Every time this goes around I’m stunned that there are still people who’ve never seen it, this performance is to drag what the Mona Lisa is to paintings, but maybe you’ve never seen the Mona Lisa, so today is the day you shall behold it
RIP Bonnie Tyler. And RIP Tandi Iman Dupree. This remains the best stage entrance by a drag queen of all time, even some 25 years later, and the best use of Tyler’s “Holding Out for a Hero” ever. youtu.be/IHQA5vqn6rw?...
Liverpool Street station has a funicular! The Liz line really IS a delight.
I’m now in Reading (UK) after two weeks at Tipoteca Italiana and it’s a rough come-down. Everything is SO EXPENSIVE and SO MID here. My crappy coffee this morning is half as good and 13x the price of the vending machine cappuccino in Cornuda.

New York City is the most perfectly "American" place in the nation, just one wave of newcomers after another, gradually building up the culture, one remarkable cultural collision after another. MAGA chuds hate NYC not because it's awful but because it disproves every lie they tell about immigration
The Bengali Knicks poet and the Sikh dholi guys combined forces for a follow-up! Now we just need the sewing machine guy and the ride a bike with stuff on his head guy to meet.

An amazing opportunity! In a relatively short time, Letterform Archive has published some of the most satisfying, informative, and beautiful books I’ve seen. The team is also as experienced, dedicated, and smart as they come.

Before I was allowed to buy my own comics, my mom tried my interest toward Spire Christian Comics, to no avail. However, I probably read almost all of them at some point, and they are objectively hilarious.
Confession: I use "Lorem ipsum wah wah wah," as placeholder text while developing exhibitions for the Schulz Museum. *Amazing* doc on the phrase "Loren ipsum" and where it comes from. (It's not what you think.) www.youtube.com/watch?v=kL1P... Thanks to @glennf.com for bringing to my attention.

Inventing a new punctuation mark turns out to be very hard. Mostly, they fade away, never to be seen again - but the “quasiquote” does not deserve that fate. Read more about this ingenious but precarious mark at the Shady Characters archive: shadycharacters.co.u... (Image courtesy of Ned Brooks.)
