OMG I just read the wiki page it seems the Odyssey was written a full 400 years after the events they describe. This brings into question the veracity of the whole story
Just remember *most* of this is about the SPR. Commercial inventories are low versus recent history but not longer-term. Markets are *much* more sensitive to commercial inventories than SPR. BTW, SPR releases are about one-fifth (maybe less) impt to total demand than Chinese crude import declines.

we live in an economy where goods are extremely cheap and easy to obtain by historical standards - including compared to when I was young, even! - and where labor is pretty expensive.
In AI's defense, its reaction to "you're not allowed to lie" is the most human thing it does
