Very good sign that maybe cities are finally starting to realize how counterproductive unfunded inclusionary zoning is. Need this progress statewide.

I'm not kidding 😂 During a long-running task, it noticed the battery was draining, set the volume to 100% using Computer Use, then opened Google Translate and hit "Listen" so I could hear it asking. Pardon my French, but what the fuck? 🤯

The more I engage with the healthcare system the more it becomes clear to me that this is the industry that most needs to be replaced by AI. I cannot wait to layoff my human doctors, nurses, support staff, replace them all with AI, and burn down the economic leech of the health insurance industry.

A good signal that Karen Bass neither rides transit nor knows anyone who does because this is close to last on the list of wants for people who rely on Metro. Faster service, more frequent headways, cleaner buses and trains, less disorder, etc. That’s what is needed. Not this dumb slop.

There should be a bounty program where, if you take a picture of a car parked in a bike lane and send it to the city on some app, you get 10% of the fine or something like that.

State housing laws are really starting to deliver. Can't wait to see more of these projects!

On one hand, I am so excited for this and can't wait to use it. This will dramatically improve access to quality, personalized health information. On the other hand, I regularly make bad health decisions even though my feeble natural intelligence damn well knows it, so not sure if AI fixes that.

My computer was randomly crashing for years and I could never figure out why. Tried everything, even a clean install. Gave it to Claude Cowork and it autonomously figured it out right away (bad RAM). Walked me through how to run the tests, and sure enough it was right. Problem solved. I love AI.
I don't know what's more amazing, the fact that AI is now disproving mathematical conjectures on a weekly basis, or the fact that it can do it with no guidance except a few rounds of encouragement. What. A. Time.
Ethan Mollick@emollick.bsky.social · 2w agoHere are 58 words of prompts to GPT-5.6 Pro that got the model to discover that the long-standing Dinitz-Garg-Goemans conjecture is false. Increasingly, prompt crafting is over-rated, ask for what you want. (Which itself can be a hard problem)

a: Prop 13 is a disaster. b: If a kinda shabby looking small ranch house is worth $4.3M, land values are way to high for SFHs to make sense and it's way, way past time to build a lot more multi-family housing.

Joseph Miscimarra 🇺🇸@jmisci.bsky.social · 2w agoNever forget that the Lead Industries Association and the Chicago plumbers union should have been put on trial for crimes against humanity. Their greed is the single reason why generations of Chicagoans were (and continue to be) poisoned.

The two hardest and most unforgiving facts in housing policy are that it actually costs a lot of money to build new homes and that the rents that poor people can afford are not enough to pay off the cost of construction.
Eli Friedmann @eligit.bsky.social · 2w agoAlthough I do understand the frustration with the brutally high cost of housing, people tend to deemphasize the actual cost. of materials, maintenance (which goes on indefinitely), insurance etc. The want to think all of the cost is due to the greed of whoever owns the building.
I still believe that everyone is too fixated on the state of play in AI right now (which labs are ahead, how to manage costs, etc.) and not focused enough on the continued steepness of the capability curve for AI At higher capabilities (like the ones expected in the near term), a lot changes fast.
