Forsaken Saintess has a lot of things working against it: it's boring, aimless, looks like butt, its heroine is blithe to the point of incredulity, that goddamn word in its title, etc. But perhaps its worse sin is that it's a food show where the food looks like shit.

And now that I am rested and alone, I can finally present Da Otakon Haul. I'm pretty much caught up on the Discotek releases I want (at least until October), so most of my disc shopping was for The Box of Pain save for Amazing Nuts, a music video anthology from Studio 4C.
I am finally home, which means it's time to catch up on all the new anime episodes I missed during the con.

Another Otakon is over and done and I'm on my way to the airport. Thank you to all of my usual Otakon crew and all the new friends I made along the way. Otakon is the social event of the year for me and y'all are the reason I keep coming back.
we should go back to anime having 52 episodes a season because what do you mean goodbye lara is almost half over? like all modern anime it needs time for a beach episode, a christmas episode, a polarizing middle arc, an episode for the VAs to stealth-plug their pop group, and 4-6 “Nanami episodes”
Finally able to settle down and watch the Discotek announcement stream to see the bits that weren't done live as @riderstrike.bsky.social snoozes in the background.

If you get a chance to attend a @mangamavericks.bsky.social panel you absolutely should! They gave a super candid talk about how they contact artists and the process of translating and printing their books (which focus on indies, LGBTQ+, classics, and shojo). If you like Discotek, it's your vibe!
People at Otakon: ratings have finally been enabled for panels in the guidebook app. They turned them on so late I'd bet most people won't be using it, so now's a good time to rate the panels you went to!
