I think people have been taught to interpret "preexisting condition" as "someone who decided not to take care of themselves" rather than three-quarters of the US population

Legal immigration as most Americans conceive of it does not meaningfully exist in the United States. "Just come here the right way" is one of the most pernicious lies in contemporary US politics, accepted across the aisle as the goal of the immigration debate when it's impossible in reality.

The thing is you gotta be obsessed with the Nazi regime to even reach for a Bonhoeffer reference here and you gotta be an incredibly twisted soul to think Bonhoeffer’s nonviolent heroism is the tragedy we can’t repeat in that story.

The idea that “right wing propaganda” only consists of Fox News and their ilk is part of the problem. It does not. There are coordinated troll campaigns every election since *at least* 2016 that pose as “leftists” and say a lot of “leftist” stuff but add a spin to paint Dems as “no better”.

my therapist and I both decided that we're done with the phrase "doing the work", especially in re: trauma therapy it shouldn't be your work to heal from the way in which the world hurt you and you are not lazy or deficient for being unable to will yourself into wellness thanks for your attention
Even if you live where abortion is legal, if I may suggest also ordering pills to have on hand. You may know someone or know someone who knows someone in another state where they are impossible to get. I'm not saying you will then mail them or drive them to that friend but someone might.
