This book really really does a great job illustrating just how horrifying and destructive to the idea of reality itself that a divine global conflict would be. Psychopomps without purpose, cities warped into illusionary wastelands, people losing entire concepts of being. Yeesh!

About 200 pages into THE BROKEN GOD and Guerdon’s world still remains one of my favorite modern fantasy settings. @mytholder.bsky.social sits right up there with Max Gladstone and Foz Meadows for me in getting how to infuse the weird into the epic.

I've been a slow reader lately but I just wrapped this book up and I stand by my statement. I know the Council of Queens is a little nuts but I stan them and their nation as a whole. The Shavaktiin are such a neat concept as well.

Not even 100 pages into AN ACCIDENT OF STARS by @fozmeadows.bsky.social and I’m already sure of my opinion that this book is one of the great modern portal fantasies.

Found myself in a writing rhythm I would have normally been frustrated with but has actually been more pleasant than expected. 15 minutes of reading, 100 words on the draft on repeat for the past couple of hours has actually been really effective

Mamdani has demonstrated something that Democrats have largely forgotten. You can't just do good things for voters and expect to be rewarded for it. You have to tell them about it, over and over again. You have to advertise your work in office just as much as you did on the campaign to win it.

When we took office, NYC had a $12B deficit. Today it’s zero. And we didn’t close that gap on the backs of working people. We closed it while funding parks, libraries, safer streets, & public housing. Call it Pothole Politics or Democratic Socialism: We are government that delivers for the people.

The past 10 months have just been a STRUGGLE trying to reignite the joy and spark in writing. I'm happy to report I think that flame is flickering again. Maybe, maybe it'll find its way to build up to a blaze.

Re-reading THE HORK-BAJIR CHRONICLES and this holds up pretty damn well so far. Better even in some places now that I have an adult’s eyes. Trees on the Andalite homeworld communicating with each other feels especially cool given some recent articles I’ve read.

B&N is having a sale as I’m sure many of us have seen. The next anthology I have a story in is part of this as well. I get to share space with a lot of heavy hitters in the industry. This book is overflowing with talent. Would love if you checked it out! It drops next week.

A purple book with lavender letters that say these kindred hearts. There is a diagonal sword in the center bottom of the book cover along with pictures of a fox, a crown, and the magic potion.
